For scissors, just hold the top of the unit steady with one hand, open the scissors with your other hand (like you're going to cut some paper), insert the blades of the open scissors into the labeled slots, then just "cut" with the scissors like you're cutting something. The blades easily pull back along the sharpener and, after about twenty-thirty repetitions, the blades are sharp like new.
A LOT better and easier to use than I thought it would be, especially since my hands are crippled by BOTH osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis. And the price! Excellent value all around.
I am a mechanical engineers and am quite impressed with the robustness and fit/finish of this. It's also very easy to hold securely.
I have a more expensive, rotating grinding stone knife sharpener and will continue to use that for my high end knives. On the other hand, this sharpener is probably more than adequate for the vast majority of knives.
I liked it so much I bought two of them.
This little number is sexy in red and does the job. I really like how you can flip it and use it from either side. It has a thin profile and a detachable cover.
Although I have a good knife sharpener already, I wanted something that would sharpen my work scissors as well. It does a very good job.
I think you wont regret buying this item.
on knives and scissors. It is a handy tool that I use several times every week. I would recommend it to
anyone that needs a quick and inexpensive way to keep things sharp.
