I really don't know how this ended up being a 5-star read because it really missed the mark in my opinion. I did not feel any type of connection with the characters and became impassive about whether their relationship worked out in the end. Apparently their relationship was based primarily on sex because there really wasn't much else going on in between the sex scenes to make the characters believable when they discovered they were in love. Hot, steamy sex? Lots of sex in different positions, yes, but hot and steamy - I just didn't feel it. Guess characters I appreciate have to have some substance to make the sex scenes really come to life. The author must have watched numerous As Seen On TV commercials because the products (admittedly a part of the back story to a degree) were mentioned throughout. Snugli, Pedi-Egg--that got old quickly. As did the lead female's constant "snorting" at things others said or did. The title also had nothing to do with the book except that it was the bakery of the lead character. The author did have a decent sense of humor that came through. This is probably better suited as a cheap thrill read for the younger set who like to skip to the sex parts. For me, just wondered why I wasted my time on mediocre sex scenes and Snuglis (snort). For a much better storyline, I recommend "Beauty and the Feast" by Julia Barrett. Now that was hot and steamy and the perfect summer read.

I have 42 notes to myself on my kindle about various things wrong with this book. They vary from punctuation errors, grammar errors, words used excessively, things that are just not believable (like one day to "seriously" clean out an apartment to move and get your deposit back)...there are SO many things in this book that make no sense--such as the sister of one of the main characters taking over running a bakery on a moments notice, even though she is not a baker---cooking and decorating cakes and such takes a lot of training and skills, you don't just walk in one day deciding to "pinch hit" for a few weeks or months. So many things in the book just not believable.

The characters have "wild sex" a week or two after she has her appendix out? Oh come on...does the author have any clue about surgery and how long it takes before you even want sex, let alone can endure the discomfort?

It needs editing--serious editing. Multiple grammar and punctuations errors throughout. Many simple changes to sentences would have made a big difference. People don't say things like WTF in a sentence when they are talking to someone.

The sex scenes are overly explicit, often using terms like "she licked his sex" if you are going to be explicit, then be explicit, don't dance around it with meaningless phrases ...better to let the reader use their imagination a bit...I don't need a blow by blow description of every single act they perform unless you are trying to produce a SMUT type book. If it were not for the explicit sex scenes there would not be much else to this book, and I assume that is why the author gives you a second by second replay of their intimacy. There is not much else to this book.

The characters are not believable based on the language...

Edible Delectables is the very best read i have had out of the last 500 books I've read. this is fun, fast paced, very warming and sexy, believable at every turn. this is almost impossible to put down. read this for enjoyment, read it because you like LOVE stories. this is a very refreshing story with real characters doing things that anyone could do when crazy in love. i do hope Amy writes more, more, more. and gets a Facebook page so i can friend her and learn the secrets to such powerful writing. some kind of contact information. please.

Don't know why anyone would Not like this book. Amy makes you want to turn the next page and not put it down until you are through. It made me feel so good to see true love happen. So many people now a days don't believe that a long love is possible. It is and this book proves it. Thank you Amy. Keep up the good writing and can't wait for your next book.

This book centers on two sweet characters, who are possibly the most idiotic people when it comes to relationships even though they seem to have perfectly good role models in their family and friends. The lead male character is antiquated, making bad decisions because he wants to protect the female lead. There is even a brief tiff over whether or not she should take his name. I am not a raging feminist, but this book just rubbed me the wrong way.

I wanted to like this book, I really did. I liked the plot idea of two people meeting again after several years. However, it was very poorly written, there was way too much detail about insignificant things and the sex scenes were repetitive and took up way to much space, I ended up fast forwarding through a lot of the later sex scenes after suffering through the first one. To me it's a bad thing in a book when I start thinking I could have written a much better book.
