The only thing that was a bit challenging is that you have to get the marker in the correct position from the paper (which also depends on the type of paper you're using). I used thick card stock, so at first the marker was too far down, and it kept overlapping its own drawing. I had to adjust it about two more times before I finally got it in the correct distance from the paper and the tip of the marker. After it was in the correct position it drew a turtle perfectly! My son started messing with Eggy while it was writing "turtle", so the first "T" is messed up... FYI, you can't move Eggy or the paper when its drawing or writing. It also talks and tells you little interesting info about what it's drawing. I'll probably need to adjust the marker again if I'm using copy paper, as the marker tip will probably be too far away from the paper. It's a lot of fun and just amazing to watch it.
Because of the pandemic, I've been searching on Amazon for a lot of electronics, mostly for educational toys for my little tot. There's no where to take him and really nothing to stimulate him, so toys are our only reliable source of learning and entertainment. I highly recommend this... great as a Christmas present if you're wanting to save for a "big" gift.
