Personally, I LOVE mythology. I used to teach both Enligh and history, so I thought this game would be right up my alley. My son, who is just turning seven, enjoys the Magic Tree House books and the Harry Potter stories (though I've only shared the first two with him). Both book series feature some mythological creatures, which my son finds interesting. So I thought this would be an educational game that he and I could enjoy together.

My verdict: my son is not ready for this game. That is because it involves answering lots of trivia questions and the mythology represented is quite broad! The beginning recommended age for this game is seven, but now that I've seen the cards, I think this game probably wouldn't be very enjoyable for many seven-year-olds... unless they happen to be very eager learners. I'd suggest nine as a possible starting age for this game (or whenever a child begins reading Rick Riordan or mythology books). In order to decide whether or not this game is for you, I think you need to know what creatures are featured on the cards. Although the greatest concentration of characters are from Greek and other European mythologies, there is actually a sampling of creatures from all over the world. The thirty illustrated cards are:

From Greek, Celtic, Norse, and other European mythologies:
1. Creatures of Greek Mythology (Pegasus, Minotaur, Hydra, Chimera, & Cerberus)
2. Trojan Horse
3. Harpies
4. Gorgons
5. Griffins
6. Centaurs, Satyrs, and Fauns
7. Sphinxes
8. Merfolk
9. European Dragons
10. Basilisks
11. Sea Serpents and Sea Monsters
12. Kelpies
13. Unicorns
14. Leprechauns
15. Green Man
16. Valkyries
17. Werewolves
18. Vampires
19.
