I love this book from Larry; it is extremely well written, easy to follow and I really like the author's style of writing. The code samples work, and he gives you alternatives between using Flash Builder and non Flash Builder Development. Its just the right size that you'll be able to work through, and there's no wasted content or fluff to fill out pages. Larry has a preference for PHP, so if you're a PHP developer this book is great for you. If not, you can still use this book and follow the examples with a back-end technology of your choice or use another book that covers other data services in detail if you get stuck. Larry doesn't cover the chart components or modules, but I've learnt enough from his book (and the documentation) to be able to figure it out. I've thought about adding to my collection, but really I'm just happy with this book at the moment. Great book, great examples, and Larry covers the topic very well. Well worth the investment.
This was the first book I really read on Actionscript and it was a pleasure. Covers a lot of areas and written clearly and in good order. My only complaint is that it is a little short and I ended up having to buy a beefier book to fill in the blanks.
