I only leave reviews that are extremely great or that I really dislike, usually there's no in between for me, but I have done a few of those too, for authors I follow and ask for an honest review either way. Well, with that said, I rate Egomaniac one million stars and beyond not even close to the normal 5 allowed. Unbelievable, incredible, phenomenal, amazing, hysterical, emotional well you get the picture...there are simply not enough words to describe this book. IMO any other book is going to be extremely hard to beat as my number one book for the entire year of 2017. It was that good! First, for me, the name of the characters I absolutely loved.
I'll start with the hero, Drew Jagger. His one liners had me laughing so hard at times that I was crying and I've read many funny books (Kylie Scott's and Max Monroe's to name two) but this absolutely, without a doubt for me takes the grand prize. Jagger, is a sexy, hot, rich, brilliant matrimonial attorney residing in New York. His background I refuse to give, I will not give this review any spoilers, trust me please, just read the book. He was funny, adorable, emotional with a heart of gold. His vulnerability was a bonus, really just a great human being.
Emerie Rose, our heroine, is beautiful, a bright psychologist from Oklahoma now residing in New York, naïve at times but definitely in a good way and funny way but most importantly had a lot of spunk and did not take any nonsense from Drew. She was far from a weak doormat. She had some good one liners herself at times. She was beyond adorable, emotional with an unbelievable heart of gold. She was very loyal and patient. She too, was just a great human being, very real.
Secondary characters, Roman, (Drew) Jagger's best friend, private investigator, funny and loyal. Alexa, don't get me started on that one, there are plenty of choice words I would have for her, but this a respectful review, use your own judgment, I'm sure you'll feel the same. Baldwin, a putz among many of the other names Drew had for him which were spot on and funny. Beck's, is so cute, adorable and sweet.
Sex, yes but not until around 50% but it's not needed, trust me. You don't even realize it hasn't happened yet because that's how good and clever this book/story is. I can't say enough about Vi Keeland and she is not my go to author, I'm not sure if I've ever read anything by this author but I promise you I will be now if this is how she writes. This book was pure talented brilliance and fun with many, many laugh out loud moments, after reading it I would have paid much more for it, that's how much I enjoyed and truly loved it! Honestly, I can't give it enough praise. The going back and forth in his past just flowed naturally and was very little, most takes place in the present but those little snippets of his past were completely 100% necessary.
Cliffhanger, no. Cheating by hero or heroine, no. Sexy, oh yes, not in the BDSM kind of way if that's what you're looking for but it's good, steamy even. This book just works on so many levels. The story, wow, as others say "it has all the feels", it's a really good, heartfelt story and how the hero and heroine compliment each other is just beautiful, warming, genuine, sincere well I could go on and on because this was just that good. Cursing, oh yes and funny with it, if that's not you're thing then move on, it's definitely not the book for you but you're missing out. Typos, few and disregard them because this is worth it, no need for grammar police here. Please don't do that to this author's book because negatives don't belong here. Talent is talent and that's exactly what this is.
Most importantly there's a HEA! Please download this now if my review moves you. The Amazon reviews did not give this book enough justice and they're all good but it was better than the 5 stars given/allowed. I am not a friend of this author and was not asked to give my review, this is my honest opinion.
Happy reading!

Editorial Reviews
Review
"With a cocky, jaded, dirty-talking attorney hero and a sassy, fiery heroine who argued, bantered, and slowly fell in love, and a surprisingly emotional twist to the story, I LOVED IT! Not to mention that banter kept me laughing!!! If you're looking for a great new romance to escape into, I highly recommend this as a new favorite!! " - Aestas Book Blog
"The novel is laid out in such a way that you are drawn in from the first chapter to the last. I swear, there's no way that you won't like this book. NO-FREAKING-WAY! I'M. DEAD. SERIOUS. I CANNOT imagine a single person not falling head over heels in love with Emerie and Drew." -Angie's Dreamy Reads "10 BEST OF THE BEST stars"
"EGOMANIAC was just EVERYTHING you could have ever wanted and SO MUCH MORE! Sexual tension that will leave you BREATHLESS. This PRIMAL connection that will leave you SPEECHLESS. And an emotional story line that will have your heart bursting from your chest!" -Shayna Renee's Spicy Reads
"If I could have anything in the world, it would be that Vi Keeland had a new book release every week. Ego Maniac is easily the first book to make my favorites for 2017."-Book Babes Unite
"The author's writing is utterly awe-inspiring and thought-provoking. Her banter development is exquisitely defined -- her characters be them good, we fell for hard, the bad, we loved to hate. And more important, an unforgettable story of overcoming life's obstacles and achieving life's goals was a lesson in itself. To say bravo seems too small a compliment. BRAVISSIMO!" -Kindle Friends Forever
"The characters started as enemies, became friends and they go where readers want them to go, with some unexpected twists on the side. It has an excellent story and character development. You'll never feel the story was rushed or too slow. The characters' chemistry is well balanced. One's spicy, the other is sweet. It's perfect!" -Unbound Book Reviews
"This heartfelt and flirty story is absolute perfection! Warning: be prepared to pull an all-nighter like I did. Egomaniac is unputdownable and absolute Kindle Crack. Without a doubt, Egomaniac will be one of my favorites books of 2017." -Kindle Crack
"Egomaniac is a sexy blend of sophistication, banter, friendship, love, and steam. Vi Keeland has once again slayed the book world as she brings forth one romance that will have readers begging for Drew Jagger and his dirty-talking mouth. Yes, panties will be dripping wet and hearts will be fluttering with butterflies." - Four Chicks Flipping Pages
"It's a sweet romance for sure (er... as sweet as it can be, with a foul-mouthed, dirty-minded alpha male involved), and as steamy as it is, it has that awesome "family and friends" feel that makes this one come to life. It had me chuckling, it had me growling, it had me nervous, it had me fuming, it had me hurting... and well. It just had me. It got me right in the feels! " - Maryse's Book Blog

"I don’t share things that are mine." <<---- ***melts all over the place***
Okay! Okay!!! Okayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! Consider me smitten, charmed, seduced, and utterly romanced by this story, by these characters. Hands down one of the sweetest, most enjoyable, most heartfelt and well crafted reads I've read. The novel is laid out in such a way that you are drawn in from the first chapter to the last. I swear, there's no way that you won't like this book.
NO-FREAKING-WAY!
I'M. DEAD. SERIOUS.
I CANNOT imagine a single person not falling head over heels in love with Emerie and Drew. They are down right lovable, so real and funny. And SO charming. SOOOOOO, SO, CHARMING. Really, Egomaniac hit my square in the gut with feels. And right now, I'm in that "head in the clouds, hearts in my eyes, honeymoon love" stage. I really think this novel has cemented my love of Vi Keeland as one of my FAVORITE authors. I mean.. I haven't read all of her books, but I definitely adored THE BALLER, almost had a mental meltdown over the perfection that was STUCK UP SUIT (she co-authors that with Penelope Ward) and really enjoyed BOSSMAN. And now there's this? ANOTHER WINNER. Another story that's not just sex, but actual story with pure heart and full bodied characters that are such a delight to read, they make you want to skip around in joy.
It's the freaking best.
ALSO, I need to say, I have a MAJOR freaking crush on Vi's writing. I'm so enamored with it. It's crisp and clean, not weighed down with a thousand BS details you don't give a fudge about. She doesn't over do it on character mannerisms. She lets the dialogue set the tone, and allows the reader to set the scene with their imagination. She's an author who conveys exactly what she needs to, at exactly the right time, to get the story right.
Man, I'm smitten. Smitten by all of it. The writing. The sweetness of Emerie. The Perfection of Drew. Separately these characters are fantastic. Heart stopping. But together, they're CATACLYSMIC. Their chemistry owns the pages, and their strangers, to friends, to lovers story takes your breath away. From their first meeting, you fall hard for Drew, and for Emerie. They have an instant rapport that sets you at ease, and the start of the first chapters are so captivating and wholly unique. In all the time I've been reading, I don't think I've ever read a book that starts as well as that.
I can't say enough good things. I just loved the dynamic between these characters, the way their attraction and friendship bloomed. From the moment Drew finds Emerie in his office, he as smitten with her as I am with them. It's sweet. There are so many unbelievably endearing moments, moments where I literally felt my heart staggering, where my cheeks hurt from smiling, and my chest filled with so much warmth and happiness.
So good.
Just so very good.
Egomaniac is lighter on the angst, heavy on the romance and absolutely loaded with a hardy dose of pure heart you will love. I certainly think that Vi Keeland has out done herself. And I know it's early, but I'm 99% sure that this book will be in my TOP 10 at the end of 2017. I'm so in love. And I plan to scream this to anyone who will listen.
A. MUST. READ.

Oh my days I'm a sobbing mess in a good way
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 25, 2017Verified Purchase
Never before has a story touched my heart more than this. Why? Because I just read my husbands story. Seriously! I shiz you not! He adopted my son two years ago but has been his dad since day dot.
Anyway, I digress.
WOW. This is the first ever book of Vi Keeland I've read. And what a book to start on. Safe to say I will be reading EVERYTHING by this woman and she now has a super fan.
The characters were beautifully touching, the sex scenes page melting and written fantastically. But it was the story that stole my heart over and over. I felt all the emotions, saw the scenes, lived and breathed Drew and Emerie. There aren't many female authors who can write from a male perspective and get it right but this author did. I cannot praise the style, plot, and development strongly enough and will be recommending to EVERYONE.
The final scenes of Drew and Beck crushed me and my daughter asked me if I was okay because I sobbed. Then came the final scene of Drew and Emerie and well, I lost it.
Loved loved loved this book and know it'll stay with me for a long long time. Thank you for writing perfection Vi Keeland.

WOW!! Just Wow! I absolutely loved this book and I just want to say what a privilege it was to read this book. It made me crying laughing and cry with pure raw emotion. My heart hurt alot when I came to the peak of this story.
Drew and Em had a chemistry that was bloody amazing. I found I could not stop laughing at this wisecracking, egotistical alphamale. Most of the one liners in this book were pure gold. And the visual of some:scenes made me laugh so hard and loudly that I found myself getting into trouble (ooops)
Drew could be crass and vulgar to a point but really loving and swoonworthy the next. And Em was just awesome, timid and funny as hell too. She made this story extra special for me and the words she used to healed Drew made me sob so much. But I shan't go into details. No spoilers here.
This book is everything you want in a great read. It will take you on hell of an emotional journey, one of strength, growth and trust. God does this book teach you about trust. I really recommend this amazing book.

I LOVED DREW JAGGER!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 30, 2017Verified Purchase
5, Your the colour in my black & white world stars.
The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.
I loved this book, it was funny and hot in all the right places.
Drew came off as egotistical at first but that doesn't last long as you begin to swoon at his sexy ways, his dirty mouth and off the cuff comments with Emerie. He's a hot suit divorce lawyer who has relationship issues after being burned by his ex wife and as a result only has male clients, its like he's on a mission to seek justice for all men who has been wronged in marriage.
Emerie had just started a new business as a relationship councillor, she's been in love with her professor now friend for years, she even moved across state and into the apartment next door when she found out he was single again but that was short lived when Baldwin got another girlfriend, he never gives her the inclination he feels the same way, parading his one night stands or new girlfriends around her while also giving her hope by taking her out for dinner and calling at her apartment, its the typical example of unrequited love.
Drew Jagger has had a series of bad New Years eve's but the one where he finds a stranger in his office with her skirt round her ankles threatening Krav maga skills just may be the turn around and end to his bad New Years eves he needs and a new beginning for both of them.
I loved these two characters, the banter, the chemistry, the Witt, the sassiness, the hot moments that develop and the plot is one of those that has you hoping for a happily ever after to come after the drama.
Great read I loved the writing style told in dual pov's and looking forward to reading more from Vi Keeland.

Drew Jagger Rocked My World - 6 Star Review
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 22, 2017Verified Purchase
WOW.. Like – OMG WOW. Eco Maniac has just sat it’s hot as hell ass on the top of my 2017 reads & although I know it’s early in the year, I can’t imagine getting to December & it not being there.
From the very first words, the very first scene, Drew & Emerie dug their hilariously funny, passionately raw claws, deep down into my soul & made damned sure they didn’t let me go for their entire story. The feels, the emotions, wowser they just poured from the pages making my heart stutter & ribs ache with laughing so bloody hard. Then we have the sexual chemistry – gawd this oozed from every single pore of this book leaving me more than a little jealous of Em & a whole lot needy for what I can only describe as the hottest, sexiest most beautiful alpha out there.
Let me give you my take on this addictive couple.
Emerie – Ok so I actually have the BIGGEST girl crush ever on the feisty redhead. She is the furthest you can imagine from a city girl, but damn is she trying to make it work. She has worn her heart on her sleeve for longer than she cares to admit, resulting in her relocating to the city, in hope that her dreams will come true. Trying to establish her business, she believes she has the steal of the century on the beautiful Park Avenue - except it’s not her that has done the stealing!!
A showdown, an office that isn’t hers, the humiliation that she has been swindled, never mind the harsh reality that she has lost her life savings bring out the absolute best in my spirit animal!! God she can face adversity like a champion & for that alone she won me instantly. The biggest problem is the sinfully sexy, mouth-wateringly delicious owner of sed office, makes her woman bits’ tingle, her cheeks flush & cause her to do the most bat crazy things imaginable. Yup, I love this chick hard.
Enter Drew Jagger. Well ladies, this man – all 205lbs of the most divine human being imaginable melted the panties right off me, while he made my ovaries cry out in desperation for this man god to father my next 20 children. And nope, if that wasn’t enough, he also stole my heart a chunk at a time in the most unapologetic way. Drew really is the full package. Not just in the looks department, but damn he has the most adorable filthy, smart mouth which just gets me going lol. He’s smart, caring, charismatic & so funny I don’t think I’ve laughed at a book so much in my life, all while feeling an emotional & tearful wreck at the depth of this man & his beautiful soul.
Returning from vacation he really didn’t expect to meet the firecracker who seemingly had broken into his Park Avenue office building. He certainly didn’t expect the feisty firecracker to get him so hard with her sassy mouth, hilarious banter & legs & skin & booty & smile &…… Yup, Drew Jagger just lost all common sense & the perfect, hardened world he has built around him, is at dire risk of crumbling – he just doesn’t know it yet.
Vi – wow, what can I say about her writing. Flawless perfection to me sums up how she developed these characters, not only as individuals, but as a couple falling headlong into the unknown. Their journey is packed with so much goodness, wrapped in the most tender of emotions. Yes, it is funny & a whole lotta dirty beyond words, but it also loving, heartachingly painful & sad too. It broke me & fixed me, it loved me & held my hand. It was perfect. I don’t think I will ever forget Drew & Emerie.
Download, get lost in the pages & fall in love ladies. I can’t recommended this book enough.

Took a chance on this book as I usually prefer to stick to books based in Britain. However I must say that this has been added to my small list of books which I could (and will) read again and again.
The characters are relatable and realistic. The main characters may both be good-looking but the author didn't feel the need to keep writing long, boring descriptions of their physical attributes, she just let the story flow and develop, making it a real page Turner! The majority of the time I feel myself skipping paragraphs to get to a 'good bit' but I read every single sentence in this book. It was gripping and I read it at every chance I got (including a late night) and finished in less than 24 hours.
If you like a good love-story with substance (not just your fluffy romance or OTT kinkiness) then buy this book!
