Product Description

Imagination Movers combine pop, hip-hop, rock and world music with educational themes for kids and their parents. Age-appropriate educational themes join forces with catchy choruses, high-energy power chords and the Movers’ unique “junk” drumming. Think Mr.. Rogers meets the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Regardless of how you describe it, Movers music is catchy stuff that parents and children will want to listen to over and over again!

Review

"Eight Feet," the Mover's third record in three years speaks to their rapid developement. Arrangements are richer, hooks are catchier. -- New Orleans Times Picayune

I have written a review for each of the Imagination Movers products and this one is no different.

It seems my girls are growing up with the Imagination Movers. This CD seems geared for older children(4-12?) with songs about losing teeth, playing tag and friends moving away.

I listened to the song about Katrina and checked their website. I read how they lost everything.

My girls love this CD and are glad they have some new music. We bought the DVD but that had music from their two CDs except "Junk."

Still waiting for them to come to Oregon. Please Movers (if you read this) come to the capital of Oregon - Salem!

Enough good cannot be said about this band! Musically arranged around rock, hip hop, world, and rap styles; the musicians are a talented bunch who pull of these arrangements very well. The lyrics are at your kids' level; three year olds will understand the majority of what is being said and six to seven year olds won't be bored by it. Topics range from having fun to serious life issues. In fact, the title of this album is a pun that is a reference to the band as well as the height of the water that flooded the band's facitilities as a result of Hurricane Katrina. My son requests the band daily, and both my son and daughter dance to the music whenever it is on. Definitely recommended as a safe, witty, and fresh entertainment product for toddlers and up.

This CD is so much fun. I wish I had seen this group while living in New Orleans with my kids. Both of my boys, ages 2 and 4, request this music when we are in the car. The song FARM is my favorite! I love listening to it as well. It appeals to kids and adults (especially those of us in our 30's).

Finally, we've discovered kids' music that grownups enjoy listening too as well! Of our children's 30-something CD's, the Imagination Movers are our absolute favorite (and yes, we like them WAY more than their Australian counterparts, if you know who I mean!) The themes are all very relevant to kids, the tunes are fun and catchy, and the kids never seem to get enough of their music. These guys are all dads themselves so they really understand what kids go through & what they enjoy. Best of all, my husband & I can actually endure listening to the same songs for the 200th time, unlike some others that make me carsick after too much replaying!

Their other albums are also excellent (in fact, our kids ask for the album "Good Ideas" the most). My favorite song on this album is "Shakable You"--a great energetic song that encourages kids to get up and dance! My kids like "Seven Days a Week" (I think that's how my son learned his days of the week!) A great album... You won't regret it!

If you can, we also recommend seeing them live in concert... they are very approachable and make it a great, interactive experience for the kids. We are huge fans!

My 10 year old daughter turned me on to their show for the sake of our 2 year old son. Subsequently we thought it might be nice to get some soundtracks to listen to in the car, and this is our first purchase. I cannot BELIEVE how catchy these songs are. They are almost like classics because some songs seem to incorporate cool rifts from the past, yet they also incorporate really rockin or cool tunes for today. There is one song for example about taking a field trip and the chorus line they keep repeating is "The bumps are bigger in the back of the bus!" It has a kind of motown, Fat Albert feel to the song, and I find myself grooving around in my seat singing along every time I hear it! I am so impressed by these four young men, hope they keep up the great work of combining their talent and creativity with positive and encouraging messages.

The Imagination Movers have creative, fun & catchy songs that are easy on the ears even for adults. They have a good message with each song and it is worth every dollar to see my son singing along as we drive, and honestly... I like some of the songs as much as he does!

My girls (ages 3 and 18 months) love this CD. It always makes car trips go by faster. And I'll admit, when one of these songs come up on shuffle on my iPod, I'll still listen to it, even if the kids aren't with me. The music is that good. Our favorite songs are "Shakable You" "Seven Days a Week" and "Farm" (The roosters are tired!) It's in that rare category of kids music of being just as good for girls or boys and their parents can like too!

for something that I would have to listen to over and over again, because my daughter is two and loves music. My daughter loves to dance to them, and as soon as it's over she wants to play it again, plus its something that I'm completely OK with her listening to (its age appropriate). Go Movers!
