Features For Better Sleep
See nightly data and discover trends to improve your sleep. The Eight Sleep Tracker uses ballistocardiography sensors to sense body movement, breathing rate, and other factors, and determine when you're awake or asleep, in and out of bed, and in different sleep stages.
A warm bed helps you relax and sleep more comfortably. Set the ideal temperature for warming each side of the bed. You and your partner can select different temperatures so you both sleep better together.
Sleep in a smart bedroom by connecting Eight to any other smart home product via IFTTT. Create automated triggers that simplify your evening and morning routines.
Wake up at the best time, every morning. Eight will wake you up within a 30 minute window before your alarm set time during your lightest sleep stage. The time is based on movement-based data, and can change each morning.
Make Sleep Data Discoveries
Wake up to a sleep report each morning, with everything from your total amount of sleep, to when you fell into the deepest sleep stage. Over each week and month, see how your sleep trends over time. Eight identifies patterns and provides insights so you discover how to sleep better.
Create The Dream Bedtime Routine
Design the ideal sleep routine and bedroom environment to get a better night's sleep. From dimming the lights as you get into bed or waking up gently to a smart alarm, choose what works best for you. Any Eight feature is 'set and forget', so all your favorites happen automagically.
The Eight Sleep Tracker is a dual-zone sensored mattress cover designed to personalize and improve sleep for everyone. Eight senses and analyzes multiple data points from your sleep patterns and bedroom environment, to determine the conditions that help you, and even your partner, rest your best. Unlike wearables or smart watches, Eight’s advanced algorithms use more than just your wrist’s movement to determine how you are sleeping. Plus, you don’t have to remember to wear it every night.

I must admit I have only two days of data but...My 3 star rating is tentative and subject to change.
Inaccuracy- apparently I sleep walk for 15 minutes with my spouse following 2 minutes after? Last night had the worst sleep I've had in a long time, likely do to illness though my tracker says I met the goal of 84. I was awake, tossing, turning, soaked in sweat the entire night! The previous night I believed the 87 score (despite the awake and left bed for 15 minutes) as I did sleep well.
Comfort- The cover is quite stiff. It is akin to sleeping on a heating pad or hospital bed when applied to a once comfortable mattress. The placement of the electronics box and power cord on the left side of the bed are an unfortunate and nagging reminder to the sleeper on that side of the bed, you are now sleeping on a crispy plastic pad beneath your sheet even if you can ignore the discomfort.
Fit- The cover is obviously oversized to fit a mattress that the princess and the pea would adore. If you have the rare 16" thick mattress perhaps it will fit well, however it will lack the feel of a well fit sheet and thin protective cover.
We sleep on an off-brand/generic memory foam mattress, we have for many years. We have owned a few different brands and sizes over the years and slept on a premium pillow top prior (DO NOT GET THIS FOR A SPRING MATTRESS, I can only imagine how much this would ruin the sleep of those who are accustomed to pillow top springs). If we had a pillow-top spring I am certain I would have boxed this up for return in the middle of the first night. As is, on a firm memory foam I am willing to keep giving a try but keep in mind the reviews you might see, might be too good to be true.
As I mentioned above... If you've ever laid on a plastic heating pad you can imagine what it would feel like to sleep on a full body size version.
BTW, you won't need the heat function, the non-breathable layer of vinyl will make you sweat without ever setting to warm.
I'm a smart home enthusiast and early adopter so I am thinking I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and 'sleep on it' at least a few more days.
One last thing, "they" are collecting your sleep data and also any other 'activity' you may have in bed! I know this after contacting tech support and they knew the status of my mattress by email address. Oh, and the Echo/Alexa app is non-existent at this time according to that CSR that knew whether I was in bed or not.
I get data as accurate (or more so) than any of the others, and no recharging, forgetting a band, it just works.
For the first week it's learning your sleep, so some of the other reviews that are upset the data isn't there right away please take this into account.
The bed warming feature is just icing on the cake!
My side of the bed had stopped heating, I contacted support and within 24 hours they had diagnosed the issue, and sent a replacement cover out. Pretty amazing support overall, I've contacted them a few times for various questions or issues with my data - there has always been a nice person responding, and the issue is typically resolved within 24 hours - something that's missing from a lot of other companies selling similar products.
