I enjoyed all of the Eighty Days books prior to this `spin off' series and find myself continuing to enjoy. Eighty Days Amber is a great addition to them all. It actually answered some lingering questions I was previously left with. A highly erotic, sexual, unpredictable and engrossing start to the companion series that fans of the genre will lose themselves in.

Luba is one of the most memorable characters of the series (besides Dominick and Summer). She's a beautiful, sexy, intelligent and mysterious woman that has incredible talent as a dancer. We get to learn a great deal about her and the why's of her chosen profession. As well as her true love for one man in her life that's never really died.

It was great to hear another side (in some ways) to the original Eighty Days. Many different sexual situations. Some that will shock you. Others that will turn you on and leave you wanting more. I enjoyed this one very much and look forward to the next of the series.

I couldn't really bring myself to care about the characters very much. While a few people said the sex scenes were hot, I didn't particularly think so. I figured she'd choose the man she chose and was disappointed in the ending. Basically, the story wasn't my cup of tea. She went from being a ballerina, to not being good enough for a company position (not that she tried very many) to being an illegal immigrant working in a pastry shop to a nude dancer (why not just say stripper). You know that bad porno where the sex scenes aren't very good and neither was the storyline? This was it.

Book 4 in the Eighty Days series is different, but I am still committed to the series. This one is centered round Luba, the Russian Dancer, and I had a hard time connecting to the character - perhaps because of her background and the way the authors drew her. She seemed a bit distanced, so I found this book harder to immerse myself in. I do think that her life story was interesting and I appreciated the inclusion of this book in the series.
The authors do tie up a lot of plotlines from the previous books. Once again, the sex is passionate, sensual, and not gratuitous. The dialogue has wit and humor. The secondary characters were likeable, the settings beautifully written and the pacing relatively even.
I enjoyed my journey back to the world created by the authors of Eighty Days, and I look forward to the next installment.
I rated Eighty Days Amber 4 stars because it is well written, just didn't feature my favorite character.

Eighty Days Amber is the fourth book in the Eighty Days series. Readers of the previous books will already be acquainted with the main character of this one - Russian dancer, Luba. This is her story, from how she ended up leaving Russia and moving to America, what events conspired to put her in a New Orleans club when Dominik and Summer were there, and how, finally, she came to bump into Summer again. It's a life story, really, but a much more interesting one than most.

Eighty Days Amber is not my favourite of this series, but I can't quite put my finger on why. There is certainly plenty of action, both of the sexual and cleaner kinds, and even the occasional bout of humour. Perhaps I just didn't engage with Luba as a character, I don't know. But regardless of this, I would still say give this book a read, especially if you've read and enjoyed the others, as it's a great insight into the world the characters inhabit, and ties up some of the loose ends that were no doubt deliberately left trailing in the previous novels.

Sexy, exciting and interesting, Eighty Days Amber is another great addition to the series, giving us more information on the characters we've been introduced to so far, as well as a comprehensive backstory on Luba. Now onto Eighty Days White.
