Format: Paperback
This book, intended for a young audience, is a delightful story for all readers, one that will soon, I hope, have a sequel. Ms. Baum's illustrations of Maya children, temples and pyramids, and the clever South American animals are charming and so detailed! The siblings who are searching for "El Duende" are also learning about their heritage and culture, and the book provides information as well as a lively, believable story line. I like it very much and I think you will too.

The message in this book is lovely. The book is unique in several ways: it gives the basics of the Mayan numbering system, and it teaches children about the Mayan culture. I strongly recommend!
