This is yet another wonderful album from the Argentinian rock scene that presents a nice collection of thoughtfully and inventively arranged pop songs that boast the sophisticated flourishes of both progressive rock and jazz rock here and there. I personally found this 1976 album to be extremely enjoyable and loved their approach, which is very tasteful and incorporated the proggy and jazz rock touches seamlessly.

The core lineup includes Luis Alberto Spinetta (rhythm electric guitar, acoustic guitar, string synthesizer, and vocals; Hector "Pomo" Lorenzo (drums and percussion); Carlos Alberto "Machi" Rufino (electric bass; fuzz bass; and backing vocals); Tomas Gubitsch (electric lead guitar; 12 string acoustic guitar). Supporting musicians include Gustavo Moretto (string synthesizer); Juan Jose Mosalini (bandoneon); and Rodolfo Medereos (lead bandoneon).

With respect to the players they are all excellent with the guitarist being a true virtuoso. Tomas uses clean tones on his guitar and emphasizes an almost jazzy approach to his playing, which can get very fast, especially on the instrumental piece. Although I say "jazzy" it is more in the Steve Howe sense of the word. As a prog and synthesizer fan, I especially appreciated the string synth pads here and there, which are used as accents and coloring rather than an integral part of the piece - for example, lead melodies are not played on the synthesizer. Come to think of it, this album is essentially a guitar/bass/drums affair, yet the arrangements are very interesting and the tones that they select give the music a very symphonic sound. Luis has an excellent and high pitched voice. Vocals are in Spanish.
