Book is factually very very incorrect.

Bofors Scandal... was a very expensive for a poor country like India. Quattrochi was Sonia's friend and he used his proximity to Sonia to build up this scam. On 6 February 2007, Ottavio Quattrocchi was detained in Argentina on the basis of the Interpol warrant. The Indian investigating agency CBI came under attack for putting up a half-hearted effort towards his extradition [5] from the goverment that Sonia's party was leading. India lost the case for his extradition in June 2007, the judge remarking that "India did not even present proper legal documents".[6] Consequently, India was asked to pay Ottavio's legal expenses.

Sonia's sister was involved in antique smuggling as per India's law. She was left unperturbed due to Sonia's influence.

Sonia did not give up her position of Prime Minister to Manmohan Singh as the book wants one to believe. She wanted to be the Prime Minister. Dr. Subramaniam Swami wrote a letter in this regard to the then President of India Dr. Kalam, emphasizing on the Section 5 of the Citizenship Act 1955. According to which Sonia was not eligible as a person of Italian Origin. India has reciprocal law. According to which if Italy allows a person of Indian origin to become PM India would also allow. But since Italy does not allow she was not allowed. She was annoyed so much with Kalam that she kicked him out and replaced him with the most corrupt President India ever had.

She basically governed India via Manmohan Singh who was a dummy. Sonia's party was involved in the biggest scam the WORLDDDD has ever seen. Please read about the 2G Scam if interested. She and her son are also wanted in the National Herald Scam.

She is lucky to be India. India's judicial is so slow and the investigation agency so corrupt that it will take 30 years to process the case. If she had been in the US she would be in Jail.

This is a book about the life of Sonia Gandhi, who fell in love with the son of Indira Gandhi while she was studying English at Cambridge. Follows her life and at the same time gives the reader a good description of India's culture, religion, a little bit of geography, and politics. It is a "page turner".

This is not only a historic novel, it a book to learn about contemporary history of India. Javier Moro takes you through tradition, food, spices, smell, religion, clothing of a fascinating country, together with tales of a powerful Indian family. I was in India at the time of Indira, and this book took me back in time and placed me in Delhi as I remember it. If you want to learn about recent Indian history and do not want to read long boring history books, I strongly recommend you to read El Sari Rojo.

I like very much.

Javier Moro gives a thorough presentation of India, the Mahatma's influence, Nehru and his daughter Indira, and of the life of a woman who adopted that country for the love of a man, and then kept the political flame of the Nehru/Gandhi family alive through sheer determination and charisma. Very well documented and narrated. A truly fascinating book!

Me gustó mucho.
