Ah, Skyrim, the King of RPG games and the game that led to a flood of crappy "arrow to the knee" jokes that swarmed the internet for months. I doubt there is anyone who doesn't know of skyrim by now but i'll give you my two-cents. Skyrim is a action-RPG that plays out in a masvie open-world with thousands of side quests, things to plant/gather, and to fight. Skyrim is in a bloody Civil war between the Storm Cloaks and the Imperial army. But under the surface even more factions are fighting for turf, The Thieves guild, its glory long gone, strives to reclaim their title as masters of darkness. The Dark Brotherhood, crumbling and in despair seeks out new opportunities to return to the day when people feared them and respected them. The College of Winterhold, a old school for Mages, that fell into hard times after half of Winterhold fell into the ocean, uncovers a powerful relic that could allow Infinite wisdom or Infinite Destruction. That is just a sample of the deep story and background of skyrim. the world of skyrim IS alive and many a writer spent long hours making a amazing and life-like world.

The Best part about skyrim is there is so much to do! want to be a Vampire? you can do that! want to be a werewolf and murder people? you can do that! want to kill people and eat them for dinner? guess what? you can do that! (<-- You know that is a slight bit creepy.) but really, skyrim is an open-world dream. the main storyline is fun and engaging the side quest sometimes turn into their own winding paths that take hours to complete. this makes skyrim a HUGE source of fun and gameplay.

there are a few problems with Skyrim however.

I love this game. I first started playing the Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I played that game for hours and hours and hours. I started to get bored. I had the most powerful weapons, I had gone through and probably finished the main quest and 80% of the other quests. Finally my computer started having major problems and I was no longer able to play. I finally got a new PC and intermediately downloaded and started playing Skyrim. Ive played almost 100 hours and I'm still not bored. I plan to play another 100+ hours.

This is seriously one of the best games I have played in a while. One caveat however, this is really for people who like open world type games. To really get the most out of skyrim you need to do it all. Not just the main quest but a bunch of the side quests, explore some of the random places, test out the crafting system. Once you start delving you will realize how deep this game is.

Aside from its sheer size and variety, the game is also amazingly developed. If your system can handle it the game is stunningly beautiful (it still looks good on older systems, but on the right rig it is amazing). The voice acting is pretty good with a good variety of flavor text so you don't just hear the same thing over and over.

It carries through with a really well refined combat and magic system from oblivion that works well and is very playable. Even if you haven't played the earlier stuff once you get the hang of the combat system it is fairly intuitive to use.

Lastly, if you are on a platform like steam or ok modding the game by yourself, do it. There are some amazing mods out there and it really takes the game to the next level.

One warning, be prepared to be sucked in. You can end up playing for thousands of hours and still feel like there is stuff you can do. This game is just about as engrossing as any you are going to play

I already had Skyrim on the XBOX360, but It was only the base game. The game was fun, but I didn't have any of the DLC, and the game ran at MAX 30fps (dips to around 15FPS on some scenes). I saw the legendary edition on sale for $10 and knew I just had to get it. I have absolutely no regrets. Not only has the DLCs increased the re playability, but I get to experience it in ULTRA settings, 1080p and 60 FPS. I always realized that the PC version has virtually unlimited playability because of the mod support. The greatest part is, that I didn't even have to restart the game because there is a simple tool that allowed me to import my save from the XBOX360 to the PC.

Skyrim Legendary Edition is the best purchase, especially for 21$. I have put more hours into the original skyrim than any other game i've ever played, and but stopped playing, and have left it alone for about a 1 and a half. Once i saw that This edition was on sale, i knew i couldn't resist, and i immediately bought it. I have played 5 days straight 5 hours each day, so about 25 hours in one week. I recommend skyrim to anyone who loves RPG's and games that will keep you playing for a long time.

For anyone who's curious, the gameplay is awesome! I highly disliked Morrowind because I played it on an Xbox, and i felt like it was just a really buggy sloppy game. I never would have thought such an awesome story line could come from an open world like this. It's all so well made. The fighting in this game is even fun. (which is what i hated most about morrowind)

I haven't played games for a long time due to the fact that none of them interest me. I'm very picky with the games I play. Skyrim is absolutely amazing. Words can't describe how much fun I've had playing so far. I absolutely love it! Excellent work Bethesda
