The Eldritch Heart is a surprisingly well-made story about a Princess and a Serving Girl and their deep and (im-)possible love for each other. Once I started reading, I couldn't lay the book out of my hands during every free minute I had. The only weakness I see here is a deus ex machina element called Omun - that particular detail takes a bit of the overall suspense away - but all in all, it is a gripping tale about gaining courage to rise against established "facts", tell right from wrong, and defend what is right.
The lesbian elements are expressed in very emotional terms. Not sexualized, but very intense regarding the feelings the two main protagonists have for each other. Also, it's a well-executed combination of Cinderella and A-Princess-in-a-Golden-Cage story. For those trying their interest in lesbian fantasy, I declare this a first must-read.
