Bought these little guys to put in-between my USB-C to C cables and my desktop(which is limited to USB-A). Build quality seems fine, and everything physically fits...but I'm just not getting USB 3.1 speeds. Plugging my external SSD into my laptop's USB-C port(and thus not needing an adapter) I get about 250mbps read/write. Doing the same thing using the USB-A to USB-C cable that came with my SSD, but going into my desktop and I get about the same. However, with these in-line speed drops to about 35mbps. All other cords/drives/ports have reliably run at 3.1 speeds in the past, so the variable that changed, was these adapters.So I mean, whatever, they were $6 so I'm not going to bother with a return. If they were more expensive though, I would. Although I don't think they work well for applications that need data(or at least high-speed data), they work fine as charging adapters.
