Ive only used this knife for several hours using it only for 5 minutes at a time as recommended in the handbook. I had for years an electric knife, great, brand name when it gave out I bought another brand a few months ago. It was horrible. Didn't cut, totally useless. Waited and reading buyers comments on Amazon I decided to listen to them and bought this knife. I did have trouble getting the blades in, when I did I used it on a 10 lb beef roast and it cut thru that roast like it was butter, sooo strong, so easy what a delight. I never heard of this brand and if the buyers hadn't written their comments I wouldn't have bought it. No mistake in this knife. Surprisingly you get two pair, one for breads, the other for meat. Lucky for me, I bake and cook a lot of meat for my dogs food and rolls etc for my kids and me. I can't stress how sharp the blades are, which makes it so easy to cut meat, it cuts fast, and no pressure on my part. I don't have to press down, or use it like a saw. I hold the knife against the meat and it does the rest, slices fast and cuts down the entire piece of meat, top to bottom. I am so happy to have an excellent product!!! Now for birthdays and xmas my family should expect this knife for their present. Buyers who are shopping for an electric knife should relax if they decide to buy this knife, it works just perfectly thank you to this manufacturer for making an excellent product.
ADDED COMMENT 2 WEEKS LATER: I've found out the reason the blades were hard to put in, I had it upside down. No fault of anyone but me. excellent product, love using it, makes my making dog food so easy and fast.

Do not order this knife!Item was clearly used. The box was bulging trying to hold evverything in. There was masking tape holding it closed. I opened it and right on top were the two clear plastic sleeves that were supposed to hold the knives. The sleeves were empty. I didn't open it any further, but I could tell that the cord was loose inside the package too.Do not order this knife!

The stand will lay flat in a drawer or stand on a countertop. It protects the blades, looks nice, and is quite sturdy. I got it mainly to slice bread. It slices like a dream! Fast, smooth as silk, almost no crumbs, doesn't squish the loaf like trying to slice with a manual bread knife. Absolutely amazing! I haven't used the carving blade yet, but I have every confidence it will work just as well as the bread blade. The handle is a nice size, I have small hands, but the design would be a good fit even for larger hands. It is relatively quiet, almost no vibration. It is well made and easy to use. I recommend this product with no reservation.
