An aside: I had forgotten how much I hate cleaning up oil-based products. The sprayer comes apart easily and would likely be easy to clean, if the paint or stain is a water-based latex. In my case, today, it took me 30+ minutes and it's not clean enough to ever be used for something other than a fairly dark stain. To be clear, though, I am not knocking this sprayer. I mention this operator problem just as a heads up, in case someone else like me is deciding on which kind of stain to use. I'm sure any sprayer will do the following, and I mention it only in case it reminds one or two other people to take precautions. I watched no youtube videos, and I wore no protective clothing (though I did think to wear old things I could then throw away). So, my technique was poor, and in addition to staining the fence, I gave myself a spray tan and highlights in my hair. Oh my, I haven't worked so hard in the shower since middle school. This Tacklife Sprayer is terrific; combined with some time invested in youtube videos learning good technique and with protective clothing (hat, long sleeves, etc.), the sprayer would work extremely well.
Now for the fun part.
When it comes to the prep work, one could argue that even the pros with professional grade airless sprayers have to go through the same prep work, and one would be correct and that fact is accepted. The actual painting is where the effort is not saved. Most interior latex paint has too high a viscosity to spray without thinning, if you don't thin the paint, it may not spray at all, and if you don't thin it enough it will splatter on the wall. While latex paint can be thinned with water, it is a guessing game as to how much water is needed, you need to add water and stir, test the viscosity, add more water and stir, test again, repeat until desired viscosity. While you're figuring this out every time you refill the cup, which can be quite often, the paint that is in the sprayer is drying (because it is much thinner, it will dry must faster), and you run the risk of clogging your sprayer. Now, because the paint is thinned out to a similar viscosity as water, it doesn't cover very well, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAINT MORE THAN 2 COATS.
I can see myself using this sprayer for smaller paint jobs, like doors, cabinets, small wood working projects. But I will have to think long and hard about getting a professional grade sprayer if I am going to paint the interior of my house.
Oh, one more thing, I don't care what anyone says, YOU CANNOT PAINT CEILINGS, I tried, does not work.
Update 9/24/2018: The manufacturer did contact me to talk about this review. They thanked me for my input and offered me an 80% refund on the sprayer, and I got to keep the sprayer. So I will continue to try to use the sprayer since it only costed my about $10.
Update 10/01/2018: I did use the sprayer on a small paint job, I painted about 40 feet of trim in about 10 minutes and it was easy. The sprayer responded well and coated pretty evenly from what I could see. But then I tried to use it again the next day, and I couldn't get the damn gun to spray to save my life, maybe I thinned the pain too much, I don't know. I will continue to try to use it to find the optimal "settings".
