16% of this book is information on how to use the Instant Pot (basically the same info you get in the manual that comes with the Instant Pot)
Then it goes on recipes like bread pudding, oats, boiled eggs, quinoa, and applesauce. I don’t think this is the best use of Instant Pot. The five soup recipes were okay, I also thought the four chicken recipes were good. I found five meat recipes that sounded good, so far I have made only one of them (beef stew) and the family liked it.
I regularly make applesauce, and one of the first things I tried in my Instant Pot is apple sauce. It is not as good as making it on the stove. I found out that I know when to stop by looking at it, and in the Instant Pot, you don’t have that control. I like my apple sauce to have some texture and lumps, not totally smooth and watery. And making apple sauce with texture is not possible in the Instant Pot. I love my Instant Pot, just not for apple sauce.
Overall, the cookbook was okay - I liked about 1/3 of the recipes included in the book. Each recipe starts on a new page and includes nutritional information and calories. Cooking time only includes the time you enter as cooking time, it does not include the time it takes to bring Instant Pot to the right temperature which takes about 20 minutes to 30 minutes. The book does not have a single photo of the completed dish or ingredients.
