"Both broken, neither thinking they deserve anything good, anything to last .... until they found each other. The most romantic erotica I've read it a while, loved it, and a brilliant debut by the author." - GoodReads Reader/Reviewer
About the Author
Rachel Blaufeld is a social worker/entrepreneur/blogger turned author. Fearless about sharing her opinion, Rachel captured the ear of stay-at-home and working moms on her blog, BacknGrooveMom, chronicling her adventures in parenting tweens and inventing a product, often at the same time. She has also blogged for The Huffington Post, Modern Mom, and StartupNation. Turning her focus on her sometimes wild-and-crazy creative side, it only took Rachel two decades to do exactly what she wanted to do—write a fiction novel. Now she spends way too many hours in local coffee shops plotting her ideas. Her tales may all come with a side of angst and naughtiness, but end lusciously. Rachel lives around the corner from her childhood home in Pennsylvania with her family and two dogs. Her obsessions include running, coffee, icing-filled doughnuts, antiheroes, and mighty fine epilogues.

Carson is ex FBI in Vegas to blow off steam because of a case of missing person that he is working on. He stops at the
Electric Tunnel and is captivated by Sienna Flower. He can't get those blue eyes or body out of his mind.
Sienna is very careful at the club and has been noticing this guy there alot and he never smiles and is only there for her shows and then he leaves. She's curious and goes out to the floor to mingle.
Carson wants to meet her and have coffee which they do and sparks start to fly. They both want each other but Sienna is afraid of her past and trusting people.
More than anything Carson wants her and to try and tear the walls down for her,to protect her.
So Sienna is a stripper (as we have already established), but she works in a pretty classy place, and she owns part of the club too, beautiful and smart. Her closest friend is the co-owner with her, and she lives literally right next door to him, she depends on him a lot, mainly because he's the only person she has really allowed into her life in any meaningful kind of way. See Sienna has a past that she is hiding from, and that means keeping herself hidden in plain sight, and never getting too close to anyone.
Enter Carson. Carson is the super hot private investigator who used to be in the FBI. He's on a missing persons case in the area, and he finds himself stopping in to Sienna's strip club as often as possible because he is just drawn to her. So of course, they meet, they chat, he likes her A LOT, he asks her out. It was so adorable to see the two of them start their relationship. I mean their coffee date alone was kind of adorable. I loved that Sienna does have friends that care a lot about her and watch out for her well-being, and I loved that Carson was so cool about it. I mean I could see how he might think it was stifling, but he was really okay with it, even appreciated how protective the men he life were.
There is a lot more I can say about this book, but it would ruin things for you. It's kind of a given that Sienna's past would catch up with her, which was a really interesting turn of events, high drama, and super cringe-worthy in parts. But I think it was one of those things that had to happen in order for her to be able to truly conquer what was in her past. Closure isn't always an easy thing to achieve, and it certainly wasn't for Sienna, but you can't help but loving Carson through all of it.
All in all, I would recommend this book. Easily. I liked it, the pacing was great, the writing solid, and the characters were so easy to like and to pull for. I love when I find a book that pulls me into a world, and this book did that for me.
You will be right alongside Sienna feeling the nervousness and butterflies as she finally allows herself to become close to Carson and is so honest and open with the way he makes her feel yet still has to keep her real identity a secret. You are in for a ride as her past catches up with her and storylines intersect and just when you thought you knew what was coming, even I was surprised! I was rooting for her the whole time as she shows you what a brave, strong, caring, open-hearted woman she is and her inner beauty just shines through. Lucky for me the next book just came out and I am looking forward to reading it next!
