Bass Big Muff Pi Distortion/Sustainer
The Prodigy reborn with underworld instincts comes to life wielding the drive of the original classic Big Muff Pi and the earthy support of a bass tailored design with no loss of low end. This is the pedal that bass players who loved the Big Muff sound have been waiting for.
The volume knob sets the output level of the distortion. When the toggle switch is set to DRY, the volume knob has no effect on the output level of your original bass.
Provides a range of sounds from high treble to deep bass. The overall tone filter frequencies were carefully chosen to enhance your bass guitar.
As in the original Big Muff Pi, adjusts the amount of sustain and distortion.
Bass boost / norm / dry toggle switch
This is a 3 position toggle switch that allows you to choose three distinctly different sounds. In Bass Boost mode, the top position, a bass frequency boost is added to the distortion. It is most effective when the Tone knob is set to the upper or treble half of its rotation. In Norm mode, the middle position, you have the pure tone of the classic Big Muff Pi. In Dry mode, the bottom position, the original dry signal from your instrument is mixed with the output of the distortion circuit. The level of the Dry signal is constant and will not change as you turn the Volume knob up or down. This allows you to set the level of the distortion effect against your dry signal.

I play guitar and bass and this pedal sounds great with both, this is the best you can get at this price.
The sustain knob cranked up is pretty much guaranteed to give you really intense distortion that makes any bass guitar sound gnarly.
I like to use the "dry" setting because it mixes my clean bass signal with the distorted one, which adds a little bit of definition. This is important when you're playing with a distorted tone, because often distortion can turn fast bass-playing into a muddy mess.
My only complaint would be that the "dry" setting only allows you to control the volume of the distorted signal - the clean signal runs through at its original volume, unmodified. So if you're going to switch between this pedal on dry and a clean setup, you'll need either a limiter or a clean boost pedal to make up for the volume change when the pedal is off.
At first I felt it had one setting I liked, and two more I couldn't stand. The mixed setting was, and is, my favorite. It's got your bass in all of its glory along with some massive, backing distortion. I do, however think a blend knob would be better than the switching system because all three settings change your overall level of sound so much that you have to readjust your EQ and tone to get to a working sound again.
Honestly, while this pedal is actually my third in a line of drive, overdrive/distortion, fuzz pedals, I still love using it on its own. The voice is fairly distinct, but that is also why I sought additional pedals. It is great as an in-your-face fuzz, or stacked under other drive pedals to really go full-bore distorted! I keep all three knobs turned almost entirely to the right...no need to change that, ever!
Definitely a large asset in my pedal board. Sounds so amazing in front of a wah or envelope filter, and overall is a great sound! It is a great pedal to have for your pallet of you have budget and room!
I love electro H and what they do... That is why I must say that this product, while sounds great, doesn't seem too sturdy. The metal or pot steel is cheap and chinsy feeling. You can tell they really cut corners on this product.
Sound wise, it is great. you can do a mixture of straight up distortion or mix with your dry signal, which is awesome.

I love this fuzz pedal. I also enjoy playing my Tele through this (with the bass boost turned off) so I find it to be a versatile pedal.Published 27 days ago by KTReyn
