One change that wasn't documented was that the input power connector was the standard ring-and-pin used by all my other pedals (ring positive), so it could just be plugged into the regular pedal power connector with no need for the ring-and-pin to headphone-type adapter that was needed previously. Strangely, I couldn't find any markings for the polarity of the ring-and-pin connector anywhere on the box or in the printed manual, but it works fine with the standard positive ring / negative pin.
Let me tell you, if you're on again off again with chorus pedals absolutely get this one and bathe in its swaying power. Yes, it's pretty sounding, yes, the depth switch makes it so much more fun, but more over, it actually makes you stand back and think about what you want to get from it. It may be only one knob, but from that one knob comes many tones and you'll never regret having a chorus, rather, that you waited so long to get this one.
One tiny thing, however. Maybe this is what it is normally like, but my knob stops turning left at the second dash, and stops turning right about two dashes past the last dash. I guess the knob was put on a little to much to the right. It doesn't affect my tone. It's not like I can't have it at zero, or at full blast, it's just that my zero is at two and my full blast is plus two past the last.
And lastly, I didn't have any trouble fitting it on my pedalboard. The battery door and screw do stick out, but if you put velcro on so that it lines around the edges of the battery door it becomes even and will fit on the board fine. Or, you could just put it on the board sideways so that the battery door lies in between the bars of your board.
My guitarist (both of them) are jealous and are now planning to purchase the EHX Small Clone after playing through my board and they have TCE Corona and the MXR M234...
If you want a simply constructed pedal with dynamic sounds the EHX Small Clone is just what your looking for. I play a Passive bass and this pedal produces beautiful sounds. I have it towards the end of my chain just before my Delay.
Keep making them EHX, ill keep buying them.
