We are so disappointed that this did not work. From the 5 star rating, I thought I found the perfect record player for our son, with MP3 encoding. He was very excited about getting our record collection onto his MP3 player. We ended up donating our working 12- year old TEAC record player combo while waiting for this to arrive. I feel like an idiot for doing that.

The Electrohome Wellington record player looks amazing, real wood, metal front, so lovely. The sound, when it worked, was pretty good. It plays very old records just fine. But lo and behold, if we try to play a newer record, it wobbles real bad, sounds awful, and skips. I read comments on Amazon about workarounds, but we should not have to do that to a brand new record player. This should work out-of-the-box. I read a comment that the company is aware of the problem. Why continue to sell this if it has a defect? Then there are the comments regarding the 1-year warranty, having to pay shipping to have it repaired, that they do not repair this problem, and the slow turnaround. The literature that comes with it asks that we do not return it to Amazon and contact Electrohome. But I cannot afford losing the ability to return it to Amazon for a refund while hoping they fix it, and also pay for shipping something I just bought that should work.

What really upsets me, is there seems to be nothing dependable out there with decent ratings. So this is it? Electrohome came so close to making something really worthwhile. They should fix the problem they are obviously aware of. There is no excuse for this to not play records, old and new, without a wobble that ruins the sound and makes it skip. I had a 12-year old system that did so marvelously. Why can't we find companies that care about making a great product anymore?

I received this packaged very well, easy to have up and going in 20 seconds and it works well. Radio reception is tricky, but I attritube that to living in the country rather than the radio...to fix this we attached an extra length of antenae cord to the one provided and ran it through the window. Nice compact size and good sound. Really easy to use. One downfall is that the remote that comes with it is ONLY for the CD but I don't really care.

Straight out of the box this thing had a terrible wobble on the turntable. Any modern records I tried to play on it would skip every 2-3 seconds, and even the older records that didn't skip had a terrible sound due to the distortion of the wobble.

I complained to Electrohome, and after about 30 minutes of chatting with their customer service (they don't list a phone number on their site) they finally agreed to have me send it back for repairs.

I didn't hear from them for almost 45 days. Finally I went back on to the Chat to see what the status was and I was informed that I could expect my record player back in a few days. When I got the player back, the problem was not fixed. The quality control department labeled the record player as fully functional and sent it back to me without even trying to repair the wobble. So, I spent $30 in packaging/shipping and 45 days to recieve the same dysfunctional item that I sent back to get fixed.

If you are just looking for a retro style decoration for your living room, this might be for you. However, if you actually want to enjoy the sound of records I would highly suggest looking elsewhere.

This is the most amazing product!! I love it. I've got over 200 albums that were sitting in storage until I received this beauty. Now I'm listening to my old favorites while recording to computer format for uploading onto an mp3 player. I also love the style...looks like an old radio which fits perfect in my room.

I'm a musician with a piano and brass studio, and an extensive collection of vinyl, cds, and mp3s. I find the Electrohome Wellington 4-1 player/recorder to be completely delightful! The wooden case is a beautiful addition to my studio, and the retro styling makes it a conversation piece among my students and visitors. Being able to record vinyl records and cds onto a portable USB flash drive is amazingly convenient. One of my favorite activities using this quality-made product is to play my large collection of old-time radio mysteries on the USB player: Instant nostalgia in the programs and in the retro-styling of the Wellington!

I recommend this beautiful, functional radio/player to everyone who enjoys music.

I'm so glad I read reviews because it's times like these where it really matters. This record player is really great, arrived packaged well and much sooner than anticipated. I haven't tried out all the features yet but the record player and radio work well. It looks great in my living room and plays all my old records perfectly.

I researched a bunch of options here. This one rated high for all the right reasons. Sound quality is exactly what you want. Sounds like a 50's record player, but a good one. I was actually surprised how well it filled the house. Needle is much better than the Crosley Suitcase which I own. I like that the arm returns to holder automatically when record completes. No speed issues. Played 45's 78's and 33's without any warping sound. Radio gets great reception. Love the look of this especially the vintage yellow glow of the dial. I highly recommend this. Would stay away from the suitcase looking models and pay a little more to get something like this. Also saw a lot of debate about sound output in the reviews. YES it does have an output port for headphones so you could hook up to external speakers if you wanted to. I planned to do that, but frankly didn't need it. Love the sound with it's own.
