My disappointment with the safe concerns the interior pieces (interior bottom, top and shelves.) These parts consist of very, very poor quality, weak, particle or ply board. Mine were slightly sloppily covered with felt. The bottom broke into at least three pieces as I pushed it down into place (I haven't seen the actual breaks because of the felt covering.) The shelf that tops the small compartments and has cutout for rifles also broke (the narrow part with the rifle scallops in it - left hand side as you look into the safe.) I glued that part together by soaking CA glue down through the felt. Though I am disappointed in the quality of the interior pieces, they are still functional.
All in all, would I buy this safe again? Yes, I believe I would. My wife and I were able to move the pieces upstairs, despite the fact that we are elderly. Easy? No. Do-able? Yes. The safe is nice looking and seems very substantial and extremely hard to break into.
The pieces fit together very well and the video is very good and a must, but it is the only product I ever bought where you pay more (relatively a lot) for the pleasure of putting it together yourself. I wouldn't buy unless its absolutely necessary to transport it to the final location in pieces.
You still have to put the frame minus the door completely together while on its back and then lift it upright and maneuver to where it will sit. In my opinion, the video makes this look easier than it is. Recommend at least two people for raising once together. You must also lift and get the 92-lb door lined up perfectly over the two hinges to enable it to drop and get it on them, not an easy task. I also feel the video makes this look easier than it is, probably because the individual in it knows what he is doing, and is capable, although I'm no light-weight.
Some of the internal parts were labeled incorrectly, both the part# and the orientation, making it necessary to go back a couple times to view the video again. A couple labels were missing altogether. These labels seem to have difficulty sticking to the felt parts. Also, the gasket seal for the door was all over the place, obviously hurriedly attached. In one corner it was bunched up, in another it was too short, and in another corner it overlapped creating a double layer. Also, one side looked like a winding snake, i.e, wasn't straight. Not easy fixes because the gasket tended to pull away from the adhesion paper when trying to reposition. Not a deal breaker but sloppy workmanship, perhaps trying to save a few seconds.
The door is nice, and heavy. On the other hand, the remaining structure reminds me more of relatively thick "cabinet" material that can be drilled or sawed through using power tools commonly found in homes. A bit disappointed regarding the interior quality for this price point. The safe is made in China. You can get a similar quality safe already put together for up to hundreds less, or a notably higher quality safe for the same price as this one. Would go one of these routes if I could do it again, and simply get a little more help with moving it.
Finally, the company representatives are very professional and helpful.
