This looks like a fair tool. The yellow plastic reminds me of days of long ago when you bought cheap desks and they came with a free tool made of yellow plastic. The plastic feels very hard and brittle and makes it look cheap.
The two bits that it accepts use a small ball bearing and spring to hold the bit in place. The tension on the bearing is rather low. The precision with which the bit fits to the cylinder is not great. All that holds it in place is the tension of the bearing. It is not enough.
I bought this to replace a Husky Brand tool of the same features. It has popped bearings on the tool tips causing them to get lost easily.
The bearing itself has no notch to which it can mate. No matter how hard the tension is, it will still only be staying in place by the nature of the precision of the tool to fit in the cylinder without slop. No magnets, nothing else. If the ball bearing fails, you now have a single sized nut driver on one end of a shallow depth. Given a bearing is round, using that as your locking of a chargeable tool tip seems strange.
The cylinder however, does have a notch that a similar bearing can slide into. It has a reassuring click, uses a much tighter spring, and I doubt it ever fail.
The handle has a decent rubberized grip — a bit small in diameter. Though I plan on using this in electronics so a ton of torque is not wanted. I feel it's a little longer than need be.
On the very rear is a spinning end. It spins. It does so with plstic on plastic and will eventually fail. The precision of the rear spinningg thing is incredibly lose.
Not a bad tool. Not a great tool worthy of the reputation they have through recommendations. I'll continue on my quest to find the right brand before I buy my whole kit.
My major concern about the tool is that the bid does not lock in well and could easily fall out of the holder.
Doesn't seem to be magnetic or snap in to place very well. Not sure if that's just the way they are built or if I have a defective tool.
Either way I'm pretty crafty person and could get by with just about anything. Just bought this because it looks cool.
