I wasn't sure what to expect with this display. I was pleasantly surprised with what I received. Given the high-resolution and relatively small display, the sharpness of the image display is excellent. Note that connections to display are made on the right edge of the display unit. Depending on your mounting needs, the side needed for both HDMI and micro-USB connectors might be a factor. The unit does come with (probably) acrylic laser-cut pieces that serve as spacers for boards on the back of the unit and the associated hardware to go with that. Note, there isn't really a proper "bezel" ... the front most pieces doesn't cover where the touchscreen circuitry resides. You'd need another bezel to cover that and expose the active part of the display.

Note that this display's controller isn't auto-scaling. This means you cannot input 1920x1080, for example, and expect it to display properly. On a raspberry pi, adding to your config.txt:

The display is IPS, so it has excellent operation over a wide angle, both in horizontal and vertical dimensions.
The unit is powered via a microusb connection on the right side of the display board. That same jack can be used for the touchscreen.
Which comes to the next part of the review.

The touchscreen doesn't seem to be very well supported. Reading numerous forums suggests that this display emulates another type of touchscreen. Eleduino provides a binary blob that only works with certain kernels. Fortunately, other people have built drivers for this touchscreen that work well.
The driver that is user space and I was able to get working well for raspian is here:
[...]; however that driver has limited functionality. Whether it is good enough for your applications you'll have to look into.

Bottom line: Display is beautiful. Touchscreen is relatively easily made functional, but not full featured without locking yourself into a specific kernel and the maintenance issues that may come with that.

Just finished hooking this up to a Raspberry pi 3 running Ubuntu Mate 16.04 beta. It uses the same kernel as other raspberry pi OSs, so the comments here will work on other systems too...

As another reviewer points out, this displays does not report screen resolution back, so you gotta set it yourself in software on the computer.

/boot/config.txt

needs 4 lines...

hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=1
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0

Without these the monitor looks dead-on-arrival.

To get those values into that file, you'll need to attach your pi to some other display in order to edit the file, then reattach it to this display after a reboot.

This is a touch screen and touch worked out-of-the-box, I did not need to do anything to get touch working. Ubuntu Mate desktop is fine detailed enough that I need to use a rubber tipped stylus in order to accurately select items from the menus.

Touch signals go back over a usb cable, which also supplies power to the screen, very clever. The cable supplied with the screen is quite long and I may trade it for a short cable eventually since the computer is mounted on the back. Some wire ties cleaned up that cable.

The case for the screen is laser cut plastic, very nice and shiny. There are 3 different sizes of mounting holes on the back which will take various cases for pi. Worked fine for me to mount a pi case on the back of this display.

If you do that, be careful to put some electrical tape over any screw heads that might be going into this case in order to not short something out.

Overall, I'm very happy with this little screen.

Everything works!! Display and Touch

It worked very well with the config.txt provided by one of the reviewers above. I haven't tried the touch screen yet, but the quality of the image, crispiness, viewing angle, and any other aspect of the monitor itself is excellent. The only thing missing is a HDMI cable.
I'll try the touch and come back for more comments.

I've just installed the touchscreen... I "wasted" some time trying to mount the images provided (i.e. images of SD cards with the linux kernel and drivers for the touch screen), when I decided to connect the USB to the monitor and see what happened. Guess what? It worked!! That is, you don't need any pre-compiled kernel, drivers, nothing... Just make sure you have the latest Rasbpian, plug it in, and that's it!! I will work just fine with modules: hid_multitouch.

Touch screen it isn't. The touch feature does not work at all. Yes I have the USB cable connected to the proper connector on the display. The display is extremely jittery. Once the display is static, it looks OK but as soon as it starts to paint, all sorts of random bits are displayed. It'll never display a video. It's also extremely slow. As I drag the mouse across it, it takes some measurable time for the cursor to start responding and when I stop moving the mouse, the cursor continues to move. I do not recommend this product for any purpose.

Works well after changing the 'boot configuration' file to the correct resolution of the display. Works good with a RASPBERRY PI 3. Would have like a a smoother bezel around the screen. The price and the product are well matched.

In order to change the 'boot configuration' file, I just used my WIN 10 PC to read and edit file from the micro SD, mounted in a full size adapter. Wordpad seemed to do a good job for editing it.
