Great unless you cut and solder one end

These are great for doing Arduino breadboard projects. I've had no problems in that area. My problem came when making a small circuit board, I cut some of the wires, so I could solder one end, and still have the female or male end on the other side. Some of the wires will not take solder. I strip off the plastic and see a black coating on the wire - no matter how much flux I use, these wires will not solder, and are a huge pain. A bit more quality in the wire would help. Not all the wires are like this, I've noticed it happens a lot on the white wires in my batch.

UPDATE: Elegoo contacted me and ended up replacing the wires. I haven't had time yet to check if these have the same issue trying to solder, but I did raise the rating one star, as Elegoo seems to really care about their customers. As soon as I get a chance to solder one of these (it has to be a place where I need one end with a connector and I'm soldering the other end), I'll update the review again. Anyway - great customer service - Thanks Elegoo!

Poor construction

So far, exactly half of the wires I used actually worked. Six out of twelve. The rest had zero conductivity. Infinite resistance. I removed the insulated end caps on one of the non-working wires and found the connector had been crimped over the insulation. That certainly is not going to work.

I wasted about twenty minutes debugging a bread board circuit before I decided to test continuity on something as simple as a wire. My mistake for assuming they would work without testing first.

I suppose I could give three stars since half of them seem to work, but since they wasted my time as well as money, only two. Look elsewhere if you actually want reliable conductors.

These are CCA, copper clad aluminum, they solder poorly or not at all and break easily. I mean really, this much copper would have cost
2 cents, how cheap can you get??

Cheap, Decent Jumpers

I used these jumpers during a digital circuits class where we were constantly creating, tearing down, and moving components in circuits -- capacitors, resistors, and ICs. These jumpers were invaluable when working with the ICs (555 timers and binary counters) which need plenty of interconnects, many of which aren't conveniently close together.

That said, here's my Pro/Con list:

PRO (+):
* 130pcs for a very affordable price.
* Multiple lengths for various jumps
* Multiple colors, each with multiple wires and lengths.

CONS (-)
* Doesn't follow standard color scheme (Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Gray White)
* Permanent bend in the wire due to the way they're shipped (although they're flexible and will work)
* Pin connector will get loose if used at an angle, with no slack in wire (though I expect this in any wiring)

All in all, for the price, quite useful for small circuit projects/tests.

Great product all around. The length is generous, the packaging is smart, the color selection is very good, and the connectors are of very good quality. You get a very good number of wires for your money.
I like the vivid colors; you can tell a brown wire from a purple from a black. Usually those are very similar unless seen in very bright light.
I've been using these a lot for various projects, and it's nice to know that I've got every combination of connectors all ready to go.
If I ever need more, I am buying this again, no question.

For a little package of wires, this really unpacks and you end up with a lot of wires that are longer than the usual ones you find, plus a pack that includes the less common but equally valuable female-to-female jumpers. A lot of builders take far too long in setting down to soldering iron in favor of more builds based on jumper wires and bread boards. If you are just a beginner like me who need to learn and understand how things work, you are wasting your time learning to solder first. First, just get these wires, plus a breadboard power supply kit, then anything else you get will make way more sense to you.

Female Connectors do not work!

I have spent hour, I mean HOURS, deducing that ALL the female connectors are very unreliable with these wires. I have thought that a radio was bad, that an lcd display was bad, yet as soon as I change to male wires I have NO ISSUES.

If you just need Male-Male wires, there are other kits which only sell those, but I can attest that this kit consistently(all the female connectors) fails.

I bought this to mess around with my Raspberry Pi, and they work great. They make snug connections with everything including my breadboards. I like having 10 different colors, and they are a good length.

I do wish I could buy the three different kinds separately. I find that I mostly need the male-to-male ones and some of the male-to-female ones, so I end up not using almost 1/3 of the wires. But they aren't too expensive so I just bought more boxes.

I also wish I could get some shorter ones. Sometimes the length gets in the way when I'm making a simple connection from one spot on the breadboard to another nearby spot.

I bought these Dupont wires to flash a modded BIOS into the BIOS chip of an Asus laptop - and I had to connect an EEPROM USB programmer to the chip using these cables + Pomona 5250 SOIC8 clip.
The wires make perfectly fine connections for debugging and programming hardware. In my case, worked exactly as expected + allowed successfully read and flash BIOS ROMs directly to the chip – no issues whatsoever.

👉 Great for Arduino, Raspberry Pi's, or any number of other electronic projects.

perfect set of wires for my button box project. The wires worked great in batches of 5 to setup my rotary encoders ready to plug into a breadboard or joystick controller board.

A Godsend when soldering is an ugly time consuming skill you don't have.

Some quality issues

Somewhat bad quality connections. 1 wire was totally dead, and several have varying resistance from "low enough" up to 5-9 ohms, depending how one touches them. While trying to check the dead one, I noticed that the wire is too thin for the crimping (or someone cut too deep while removing insulation and lost some strands) - once loosening the hold over the wire insulation, the connector came immediately loose. That is, its hold on the strands themselves was zero-force. I could even push the strands back in the connector's crimping area. (However, the real problem was elsewhere, as it was still "dead" even on the bare strands in that end.)

My package came with 3x4 extra wires, so, I guess I'll get enough decently working pieces, but there is not much trust in them. Could perhaps try to solder some for better reliability and lower resistance.

The connectors fit nicely in all the headers and breadboards I tried (not too loose, not too hard).
