About this item

- ✅ SELF-LOCKING SECURITY: Unlike other lifting belts that only rely on cheap straps to support your lifts, our weight lifting belt uses Self-Locking technology that will never wear down and risk injury during your olympic lifts. The self-locking buckle is extremely simple and easy to use, it releases immediately upon pulling the release roller, yet, will never open or slip no matter how big your lift! Quit worrying about your belt popping open, try the self-locking difference now!
- ✅ FUNCTIONALLY DESIGNED: One of the most frustrating aspects of other exercise belts is the silly use of contour and tapered designs. A weightlifting belt is designed to create even, consistent, intra-abdominal pressure to increase your stability during your lift, it’s not a back support that others claim to be. To do this most effectively, a uniform 4 inch profile has been shown time and time again to be the most effective design by Powerlifters, Olympic lifters, and Functional athletes!
- ✅ COMPETITION APPROVED: You know what is the worst? Buying a weightlifting belt and finding out you can’t use it in your competitions. The Element 26 Self-Locking Weightlifting Belt is fully approved for use in olympic lifting and functional fitness Competitions. Don’t be stuck having to buy twice, buy with confidence knowing this belt is approved for your competitions!
- ✅ BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE: The E26 Self-Locking Belt is made from 100% Premium Nylon, Full Metal Self-Locking Buckle, doesn’t have silly padded inserts and mesh coverings which result in unequal distribution of pressure during your lifts and designed with only one purpose in mind… ultimate performance for functional fitness athletes.
- ✅ ELEMENT 26 LIFETIME WARRANTY: The quickest way to tell if a product is of high quality is to look at the warranty the company provides. Cheaply made products have short or limited warranties because the companies know it won’t last a long time. At Element 26, we build only premium quality products and standby them with a lifetime warranty. If you ever have any problem, no worries, we got your back!

The Element 26 Self-Locking Weightlifting Belt
What Makes A Great Weightlifting Belt?
This is the question we started with when designing the Element 26 Self-Locking Weightlifting belt. We wanted ultimate performance, comfort, and security for Functional Fitness Athletes. We achieved this by starting with the best material we could find, 100% Premium Nylon. Then, shaped it into the most functional design, a light weight uniform 4" Profile. Next, ensuring the belt will never come loose during your sets by including the revolutionary Full Metal Self-Locking Technology. Finally, we put it to the test with some of the worlds top athletes competing in the most challenging fitness competitions in the world like the 2020, 2021, and 2022 Games, Wodapalooza, The Granite Games, and hundreds of local functional fitness, Olympic Lifting, and powerlifting competitions throughout the world. All of these factors created the best weightlifting belt you can buy for Functional Fitness Athletes.
Innovation At Our Core.
In 2017 Element 26 developed the often copied, never replicated Self-Locking Weightlifting Belt, turning the market on it's head with the perfect balance of security, flexibility, and optimal design. Since then, we continue to innovate and improve the belt to be the highest quality in every aspect. Be careful choosing imitation products that copy outdated versions of our original designs.
Strict Quality Control
Element 26 manufactures all of our self-locking weightlifting belts in our dedicated factory with a US Army veteran team overseeing all operations and maintaining the highest manufacturing standards and quality control.

DO NOT USE PANT SIZE. See The Sizing Chart For Proper Sizing and Measure Around The Navel (Belly Button). A Small Gap Between The Two Sides Will Not Affect Performance As Long As The Strap Can Be Comfortably Placed On The Velcro. I think it is important that I begin this review by stating that when it comes to weightlifting belts, I’m in the mindset that they are not necessary. In fact, I did not think I’d ever use one until a fitness company (NOT Element 26) offered to send me free weightlifting belt, no strings attached. I was hesitant to accept their offer because I wasn’t sure I’d even use the belt, but I decided that since the belt was free, I’d try incorporating it into my heavy deadlift and squat days. I had recently noticed that my stability and form during these heavy days needed some improvement; maybe a belt could help. The day I received the free (not Element 26) belt, I immediately tried it on … and I immediately knew that I would never be wearing the belt during my workouts. The belt, although well made, was not comfortable. My biggest issue with the belt was that the back was wider than the front; this creates not only issues with comfort, but also functionality. I returned the belt and, oddly, I found myself a bit disappointed. By this time, I had talked myself into giving a weightlifting belt a try and I was actually looking forward to it. That being said, I did some research and decided I would purchase a belt that I felt would best suite my needs.
THE REVIEW
I chose the Element 26 Self-Locking Weight Lifting Belt because it seemed to offer the most bang for the buck while meeting my specific needs (although a 10mm thick, leather belt with a single prong buckle may provide a lifetime of unsurpassed support; I didn’t want the expense, nor the break in period typically required of these belts). From the moment I put the Element 26 belt on, it felt right. The width of the belt and the ability to tighten it exactly how I want it made the belt very comfortable. The self-locking mechanism made the belt feel very secure. The lifetime warranty and 100% satisfaction guarantee made me feel like the financial investment (although minimal compared to some other belt costs) was well worth it. I was ready, and a bit excited, to put the belt to the test.
So far, I’ve used the belt for two heavy deadlift days and one heavy squat day. Please keep in mind that I am not a power lifter or anything. I’m lifting about 150% - 200% of my body weight during these exercises. My needs may be different than yours. Not being a belt user in the past, I cannot provide insight as to how the belt compares to the performance of other belts, but what I can say is that the belt has performed to my expectations … expectations set by the claims and descriptions found on the Element 26 website.
The belt is well made and appears to be very durable. I am not concerned about the build quality of the belt; I’m confident it will last a very long time. If something does go wrong, E26 offers a lifetime warranty.
I can adjust the belt to the perfect amount of compression; I’m not limited to a specific set of holes found on prong buckle belts. It’s super easy to adjust the belt too. I’ve seen guys at the gym wearing different style belts doing some pretty strange things trying to get their belt to fit just right. It looks awkward, to say the least.
The belt feels very secure when the self-locking mechanism is engaged; there is no slip or movement in the belt. It does not loosen up during lifts. This is extremely important to me; I want to know that the compression I feel during the first rep is the same compression I’ll feel on the last rep.
The belt is a great width, it does not interfere with my hips or ribs during any exercise. It allows for comfortable full range of motion from the start. I’m very surprised at how comfortable this belt is.
The belt is lightweight and doesn’t take up much room in a gym bag.
Being uniform in width all the way around allows the user to move the buckle to their side or their back or wherever is most comfortable for them. Regardless of where the buckle is, the belt is providing the same amount of compression all the way around. Note: I, personally, do not find the buckle to be uncomfortable anywhere along my waist; it never gets in my way.
I like how easy it is to “unlock” the belt after I complete a set without the need to completely remove it. I can quickly adjust the belt to fit loose around my waist while waiting to begin my next set.
Although I’m not concerned with my appearance and I’m the furthest thing from a fashionable gym goer, this belt does look great. Just because appearance isn’t important to me, doesn’t mean it’s not something others look for. If you want your equipment to be equally fashionable as it is functional, this belt should check both boxes for you.
When all is said and done, I am very happy that I made the decision to purchase the Element 26 Self-Locking Weight Lifting Belt. I’m so happy with the belt and the Element 26 brand that I recently placed an order for the Element 26 Padded Figure 8 Lifting Straps. I’ve also got my eye on the Element 26 Isoprene Polymer Hand Grips, but those will have to wait until I’ve got some extra cash to spend.
My gut makes it so my waist falls within the Xl size range, but maybe it’s because of how curved my lumbar is, the XL is almost too big. I’m trying to cut some weight too, and there’s very little space left to tighten before the belt is maxed out. I had already tested it out and marked it, so I couldn’t return on Amazon, but I contacted Element26 directly, and they sent me a new Large for free!! I can use this size now, but feel confident I can use even if I lose ~20 pounds or so.
Nearly four years later, I was recommended this by a friend. Last week I was able to rep 225lbs for 4 reps on back squat with little to no discomfort in my lower back. I attribute the lower rep range to weakness in my leg muscles more than anything.
I’m going to continue to be careful, and I understand that everyone’s bodies are different, but the ability with this belt to adjust it infinitely makes it so I can essentially put my lower back in a heavily braced position to prevent my spine moving at all. The belt itself is also quite comfortable, I prefer the material to a leather lifting belt as it doesn’t cut into my abdomen.
If you’re looking for a solid lifting belt, go for this. Being able to adjust a belt infinitely is massively important to anyone, whether they be going for strength gains or hypertrophy.
The locking design is nice because it stays tight and doesn’t come loose. However it can make it difficult to loosen quickly when transitioning between workouts such as during CrossFit type training.
I wear a size 30 pants and my waist is around 28-29”. I got the small because it’s supposed to be as low as 27” but I have to tighten it down all the way to the end for proper support. So keep that in mind if you are between sizes, the your waist will be an inch or more smaller when the belt is tightened down appropriately.
Top reviews from other countries

With regards to sizing, the chart says to go smaller if you are borderline. I am 27inch (around belly button) so based on that I could have gone XS or S. Per their chart I went XS initially however when I tried the belt on the 2 ends didn't meet each other by two inches and the only thing against me in the middle was the velcro strap. I contacted Element26 who said this was normal and the ends didn't need to meet, however I didn't feel fully secure so I returned the belt to Amazon and ordered the S. This is a much better fit. The 2 ends overlap each other by about 2 inches now and I feel fully locked in.
Amazon made the return process super easy too. I did initially contact Element 26 to exchange but they tried to convince me to keep the XS and that I must have measured myself incorrectly...slightly condescending!

I wanted to buy a good belt that had plenty of support as prolapsed 2 discs in my lower back 10 years ago.
After doing lots of research I decided this was the belt for me.
To be completely honest I wasn’t 100% happy with the belt at the start. I watched all the videos of how to secure it by looping it through first then velcroing it down. That’s the way I was using the belt. I found that I couldn’t get the belt tight enough and then once I had finished my lift trying to loosen the belt was equally as difficult. It was just very frustrating.
After a few weeks of frustration I started to just put the belt through the first roller and pull tight like all other belts. PERFECT!!! Maybe if I was going for that one HUGE lift I might double secure it, but I honestly don’t think it needs it. The Velcro seems to be enough to keep it in place with comfort and ease of removing to also.
Love this belt now.

I was considering a Leather Belt from Dominion but the price (£150+shipping) put me off.
I was skeptical but this Nylon Belt is great and the Self-Lock system is so simple you'll be wondering how the hell no one thought of this earlier.
Anyway, the belt fits as it should, Tight & Snug NOT "comfortable". If your belt (any) "fits-like-glove" it is too loose.
The only thing I have to see is how long the Velco strap lasts, as Leather Belts are practically for life. I've no doubt about the Nylon but the durability of velcro strap remains to seen.
UPDATE: This 4 inch belt is pinching my hip and putting it higher is a little inconvenient. IF they ever bring out a 3 inch belt, ll I'll be there, but as it is I'm looking to replace this one.

This is because the slight overlap dug into my stomach when trying it on and performing some deadlift/squat movements without any bar or weight. It was actually quite painful for me and believe I need a belt that’s thinner around the front rather than the same width all the way around. This belt being the same width all the way around meant it’s not for me.
That’s just me though and every body is different. If this fits you well and doesn’t cause any discomfort, then it’s going to be an amazing belt for you and I can see why others have given 5 stars.
