What this book is NOT is a riding instruction book, nor is it a thorough "training from the ground up." I would not suggest this book as an introduction to people who have little to no knowledge about horses. Or, at least a newbie should read this with the understanding that there is much more information that needs to be learned before they can appreciate the content of this book.
Just love this man, who - now in his nineties - is the last of his kind.
The author's instructions are written clearly and are plentifully illustrated with diagrams and photos.
As well as dressage riders, Western Pleasure and Western Horsemanship riders will find this book to be amazingly applicable to their favorite events. All riders will find that this book is both a wholistic and a specific guide to good horsemanship.
