I spent the extra $$$ on this because it seemed to be the only solderless breadboard wire kit on amazon I could find that used IEC color codes for the wire sizes, which is important when building a clean board; when the wire follows standard color codes, it's easy to know which wire will fit precisely between two board positions. If I need to connect points that are: 3 positions apart? orange wire. 2 positions apart? red. etc. Makes assembly quick and decreases "off-by-one" mistakes. Good for professional clean work. The case seems fine: the hinge is a true rotating hinge, not a "bending plastic" hinge that is subject to fatigue over time. These rotating hinges look like they'll last just fine. The wire is definitely stiff and NOT "noodley" which is good; some wire kits have thinner gauge wire that bend too easily when sticking them into stiff prototyping boards.Pics included show: (1) the entire kit, (2) color coded wire uses resistor color code for breadboard unit sizes, (3) closeup of box's non-fatigue rotating hinge, (4) closeup of one of the two lid latches; use thumb/forefinger on each hand to twist open both latches at same time. For me, worth the bit of extra cost for the stiff, color coded wire.

A little pricier than others but this kit has precise wire bending and diameter for a perfect tight fit and the only kit I found that uses the resistor color code for the wire lengths.
2=red, orange=3, etc. 1=small bare wire jumper so uses brown-=10.
This same kit has been around for a long time.

The ends of these wires break off while they're stuck in your breadboard. Every green wire broke the first time I used them. Completely worthless and a waste of money.

I am an Electrical Engineer and constantly have to work with breadboards and circuits. This kit is really handy when trying to keep things nice and neat. Only real downside is, when you're trying to freeball something or just testing things out, it gets really hard to use this kit because you haven't sized everything and laid it out to accept all the right lengths of wire. Honestly if you're just going to use this for college projects or hobby projects I'd get it, but when you are building your projects for the first time, just use regular wire. It'll be messier to troubleshoot, but saves your the aggravation of having to move the chips all around to accept the wiring size. Overall good kit for permanent projects, not for testing circuits.

very handy set of jumpers, along with the soft wire type i am also using these will be a great addition to my electronic tool box. they snap in place easy but if you aint got long finger nails i would have a small flat head for removing them. i bought two kits off amazon and was delivered in just a few days. i have tried these on to circuts on the bread board and they flex form to any position and then you just straighten them back out when your done. i will still use my long wires for jumping to other boards which these dont do very well. so really ya need both types for different jobs. would recomment and for $5 bucks, the snap case is almost woth that!

This is a very nice kit but, as other's have pointed out, it's not exactly as pictures. If you look at the product picture, the difference between that and the actual product can be described by saying the left-most small compartments from top to bottom (the column with the label over it) is not included with the product. Mine has 9 small compartments, one large compartment(the same length as 4 small compartments together) and one medium compartment (the same length as 3 small compartments) for a total of ten compartments.

I see complaints that the box is lousy but mine is quite rugged. Perhaps there has been a change to the product. It's a very thick, tough, and flexible plastic not the brittle type of plastic that breaks easily. Yes, it is a milky color and not clear as someone have complained but I don't see that as a problem. After all, when you are choosing a jumper, you have to open the box anyway. That complaint is trivial and nit-picking, IMO.

My kit was packed very well and I received it in two days. When I opened it, I was happy because other's have complained that the jumpers were all mixed up buy mine appeared to be just about perfect. However, with closer inspection, I see that some of the very small jumpers are mixed up a bit. I don't see that as a big issue. I will have that sorted out in just a few minutes. However, it would have been nicer if each different size had it's own compartment. The large and medium compartments have two different lengths of jumpers in each compartment but, because they are color coded, that's no problem. But it would have been nice if he very smallest jumpers each had their own compartment. There would have to be one more compartment for that. There are 13 different lengths of jumpers fitting in 9 compartments. But the only minor issue will be with the two smallest jumpers sharing the same compartment. Of course, you could separate those and put two of the longer jumpers together which would probably be a good idea.

All-in-all, I am very happy with the kit. I should say that I haven't used them in a breadboard yet so I cant' comment on how they fit yet. But they are nice and stiff and should be easy to work with as long as the lengths are correct.
