I was hoping to feel the love and was left with cold forced sex scenes.
Although I guess it was hard to go from the viciousness of her depraved
master to trusting Jett let alone love.
London’s background was chilling. I’m not sure there is a way back from
What bothered me was the ease in which Jett allowed other men to
do the deed to someone he was growing fond of.
If the “mansion” was truly a front for a better purpose he had the upper hand on
who and how often men mauled her.
I mean for him to feel proud she elevated herself to elite status was atrocious.
He was attracted to her, wanted her but watched as other men took what
I liked Jett more in the previous books where he was the caretaker of all the
ladies and not the taker. His subtle change from friend to dominant was
smooth and cunning.
Timeline starts in present and drifts back before Kayne took Ellie and moves
forward from there. Glimpses of Ellie/kitten and her time with Jett reminded me
of his nurturing of his ladies. That’s the man I adored.
Torture, captivity with punishing rape scenes left me questioning
why I continue to read dark erotic at all.
I think I need to step back from dominance, BDSM and frolic happily in romance
without the bonds that darken the spirit.
The reveal of his uncle’s past made me cringe and hoped London would one
day deliver the same payback as she did the master planner of her captivity.
It wasn’t until the very end that I felt the pangs of love but at that point it was
too late for it to matter.
Explicit sex scenes, multiple partners, multiple genders and I felt nothing.
So you might ask why the 4 stars? Because the author gave her loyal readers what they craved. A raw unrestrained Jett in the dark sometimes violent world of BDSM
where domination/submission, power/control and brutality live.
If you've read anything by M, you know this woman is the mistress of ménage. No one writes hot and dirty like she does. And Elicit isn't just dirty, it's sinfully decadent and delicious.
I first fell in love with Jett in Owned. Every girl needs a Jett in their life. Am I right? And that love grew over the Decadence series. Jett is the ultimate guy. He's smart, sexy, strong, hot as hell, kinky, and just bada$$. He's comfortable in his skin without being arrogant and that is super sexy. He also never lacks female companionship. So it was so surprising to see him lose his cool over London.
And I've gotta admit, that definitely intrigued me. I was dying to know her background and how she managed to snag Jett. And M definitely delivered. She takes you down a dark and twisted path into London's background that will bring tears to your eyes and leave you gasping for air. London is such a multifaceted and complex character that anything you previously learned about her before Elicit is just a scratch on the surface.
If you've read the previous books in the Decadence After Dark series, Elicit is a #mustread for you. If you haven't, I highly recommend starting with Owned and working your way through this sinfully decadent and delicious series.
M Never does it again with the latest (I refuse to say last) book in her fantastic Decadence After Dark series. I have *floved* each book of this series, so it was no surprise to me that I loved Elicit, as well.
What did shock me was exactly how much I adored and enjoyed reading this book. I suppose I just didn't think M could top the books before it. I really believe I may have been mistaken.
(Having said that, if you haven't read the previous books in the series, you should. ) And also by stating that, I do not mean to take away from the books that come before in the series, surrounding the stories of Kayne and Ellie, and CJ and Tara. Those are also must-read 5* books. Although you absolutely should, they are not required to read this book, but you will understand the characters and storyline much better if you do.
Elicit is the story behind characters we first met previously in the series, Jett and London. And what a panty melting book it is! Omg! This book deserves more than five stars just for the
intense and phenomenally written sex scenes. And there is Kindle melting sex in abundance; and in various configurations (e.g. M/f, ff, Mff, MfM....you get the drift..)
But, it's not all hot sex. This contains a really great plot and storyline. While I wasn't terribly intrigued by either Jett nor London in the previous books, I became enthralled by both in Elicit. London's past is horrific by any standards, just a nightmare of abuse, instability, and pain. Elicit provides us with the beautiful tale of how she becomes whole again. And Jett, well....Jett makes me swoon.
As much as I hate to say this, (only because it forces me to admit the end), Elicit did do an amazing job wrapping up the series. It tied up a few loose ends for me, making the entire series just come together beautifully, and permanently placing Decadence After Dark as an all time favorite series of mine.
*****This is a story not to be missed. Easily 5 STARS. A must read book and series. Period.*****
Note to author: ( OK, Bribe, beg, bargain or plead to author: Alistair and Amber need a story...just sayin')
