English teacher and former archaeologist Elise Abram as been writing ever since she can remember, but it wasn't until she was asked to teach Writer's Craft in 2001 that she began to write seriously. Having to research writing and the writing process gave her the confidence she needed to actually put proverbial pen to paper. Her first novel, THE GUARDIAN, was partially published as a Twitter novel a few summers back (@RKLOGYprof).
Her second novel, PHASE SHIFT was published in 2012.
THE REVENANT, Abram's latest novel, is set for a 10 July 14 release by Black Rose Writing.
In THE REVENANT, a refreshingly new take on the young adult paranormal craze, Zulu is a boy resurrected from death more than a century ago by forces unknown. He forms an alliance with Morgan the Seer and Kat the Empath to help save the people in the Seer’s dreams. But when the Seer’s brother, Malchus gains possession of a new body, Zulu, Kat and Morgan realize the people most in need of saving are themselves.
Abram continues to write, no easy task, given the demands of teaching three English courses each semester, and raising three teenagers simultaneously. Currently, she is working on I AM, WAS, WILL BE ALICE, a YA time travel story along the lines of "The Time Traveler's Wife." Also in the works is CHICKEN OR EGG: A LOVE STORY, revolving around a time travel love triangle.
Other books by Abram available on Amazon include novellas THE MUMMY WORE COMBAT BOOTS, which follows Palmer Richardson on a case in which he consults for the Metropolitan Toronto Police Department to figure out the origins of an errant mummy found in the Royal Ontario Museum's holdings, and THROWAWAY CHILD, in which Molly and Palmer join Police Detective Constable Michael Crestwood (also starring in THE MUMMY WORE COMBAT BOOTS) to investigate a child's skeleton found beneath a historic house.
