Cannon's vivid imagination coupled with uncanny insights into the thoughts, hopes and fears of a teenage girl make this novel a MUST READ! Punctuated by a series of 'WOW' moments, and with a plot that is nicely woven together from the first pages to the last, this page-turner has everything it takes to fully engage the reader. The story unfolds over one incredible night for Elisha Morgan, and by the time daylight arrives, it is, literally and figuratively, a brand new dawn for her.
Twists and turns throughout the plot development, both real and imagined(?) become more and more complex, but the reader never gets 'lost'. In these passages, as Cannon quickens the pace of dialogue (and your heart rate!) with crisp back-and-forth 3 to 5 word sentences, each line delivers just the right tone and exactly the right words to paint the scene and its emotion with purpose and with clarity. All the characters are exceptionally well drawn, and the reader feels intimately acquainted with each, even those on the periphery. The story development is wonderful, and even the most seasoned mystery readers won't connect the dots until Cannon is ready to let you.
You won't want to put this down!
