There is no harm in being slightly overly prepared.
In this case, I think this is a solid buy and a serious emergency response medic bag, and cheaper than trying to buy the individual components.
This is a good kit.
It's compact, well made and carries decently. It opens up into three separate, connected modules with two zippered enclosures in each. Not a lot of pockets and cubby holes - a few, but these pockets are nice and large, and it all fits nicely. Every sterile item is waterproof, and everything else is sealed in heavy-gauge zip-lock bags. Not water proof overall, but lining each inner pocket with a large zip-lock would do nicely.
This bag is very much intended for a combat field medic. The overall appearance says "Boy Scouts", but they don't bleed enough to require this thing. It is assembled for the treatment of serious combat wounds. There are a ton of large, sterile dressings.
There are many other important items as well, and it is fairly complete - let's call it the foundation for a great kit.
Anyone facing a scenario with arterial bleeding or 2nd and 3rd degree burns, this is your bag. Knife, gunshot and shrapnel wounds, etc. I'd keep one at home in an area prone to tornadoes or earthquakes. If not your exact reality - I'd buy an empty pack instead, and fill that as per your specific needs.
Another idea would be to remove and store some of the compresses in this kit and use the space for items you might need more. Like I said - good foundation and could be built into the perfect response kit for your specific needs.
Overall a great product, and worth every cent. Very high quality bag, and everything inside is top notch. Seller takes a very long time to get it to the shipper though.
