Big Calves Beware

I’ve always had an issue with shin guards that say “one size fits most/all.” My calves are about 18 inches around at their widest and shin guards rarely have enough elasticity or strap length to accommodate them. These shin guards are fine for beginners and for light sparring, but if you have crazy thick legs like I do, it might be difficult. These just BARELY fit over my calves WITHOUT the Velcro straps (I actually cut the straps off because they’re too tight with them on). Without the velcro straps, they’re actually pretty comfortable albeit still very snug. Again, for light sparring they’re fine and that’s really all I’ll need them for, so they’re good enough for me. I just wish shin guards would come with an extra wide option for people with thick calves. Shouldn’t have done so many calf-raises in middle school I guess, but little Jessica said I had cankles

Just finished my first kickboxing session with these new shin guards… the fit is great. They’re comfortable and do a good job of dissipating the energy from kicks. Can’t beat the price, quick shipping. Overall a good product . I’ll know more about the durability after a few months of use but so far I’m very pleased. These shin guards are comfortable, lightweight, and had a good snug fit. Easy to slip on and off. Great for light kicking. I can’t say how well they hold up as I’ve only worn them once. Also, this is my first pair or shin guards so I have nothing to compare them to.
