Old recordings redone in SACD are in many cases outstanding. I have wanted a good recording of Ella and Louis for a long time. This recording brings the magic back. The dull sound of old recordings on standard CD is clearly gone, and you will love this recording.

Great Jazz music and good record pressing. I am surprised that this record is in stereo and sounds as good as the original mono version. The vinyl sounds warm and full although it does has some pop noise but that might be due to my TT. I also have the same album in DSD format and this record has the same clarity as the DSD file has. I would highly recommend this fantastic record for your vinyl collection.

On vinyl, this album is butter. The sweet voice of Ella meshes brilliantly with Louis's deep, rough voice and throw in a little trumpet and it is perfection. I should have bought two because I'm sure I'll wear this one out! The recording is very nice and the pressing is equally impressive. Talk about the good old days. If only I'd been around to see them live, I can't imagine. Close your eyes, turn it up and maybe you can catch a glimpse of what it was like.

I'm so glad I found this lp! The sound quality is terrific, and every song on it is wonderful. I didn't even know they had made an album together, until one day I was just browsing the internet to find some jazz music, and I came across this album on Amazon. Actually, my brother had just given me another one of Ella's records for my birthday, which I like very much, and listen to all the time. So, anyone that is into great jazz, and has a really good turntable to play awesome vinyl like this, I highly recommend it!!

Incredible sound quality on this SACD. They seem to have either preserved the original recording really well or done an incredible job remastering it. I'm not a recording studio engineer or anything, but I have a few classic jazz albums and this is one of the few where the extra $$ for the SACD seems to be well worth it.

I highly recommend this record. I have it on vinyl and it sounds amazing. The 2013 repressing really does the music justice. I am listening to it right now, ready for the onslaught of snow that will hit the midwest shortly but I am okay with that I plan on getting cozy listening to this record and sipping on some hot tea.

If you have a very good DAC or CD player, this SACD will give you what you paid for and more. Louis' voice is simply pure gravel magic. I say very well done to the SACD mastering engineers.

Along with the Glenn Gould Goldberg Variations (all of them), the Ella and Louis recordings are my very favorite recordings of all.
