About the author

Gregory Turner-Rahman was raised by wolves in the wilds of the inland Pacific Northwest (at least that is what his mother, Fang, always told him). When he was a kid he drew really awful comic books and sold pet rocks. Much later he studied architecture and a lot of other exciting stuff.
He is now a professor at the University of Idaho who teaches unsuspecting students history, how to make art on a computer, and how to think and communicate visually.
Greg lives in Eastern Washington State with his wife, two daughters, a terribly fluffy cat named Donatello, and several generations of dust bunnies.

The illustrations are simple and fun, and will have you smiling and eagerly ferreting out the hilarious expressions, minute detailing, and fresh palette of colors on every page. I loved the whole cast of characters, everyone from giant Gramps Whale to the Beatnik Beatles to the pairing of Grandpa Pete the Goldfish with Grandma Maggie the cat.
Absolutely delightful, wonderfully endearing, and cute as, well, a bug! This book is an excellent addition to any kid's burgeoning library!
