About Us
Ellie Shoes is a family owned and operated company. It was founded in Orange, California by Ellen Renger in 2000. The company started out as a footwear company that specialized in lingerie and bedroom shoes for women. Over the years, as Halloween costumes began, the demand for a costume shoe to match the outfit inspired Ellie’s involvement in the Halloween industry. Halloween has opened up new opportunities and has given us a lot of exposure to a whole new community. It was by accident that these two industries collided, and it continues to be a force that grows our business today. However, the DNA of Ellie Shoes is still in the lingerie business.
I mean they are witches shoes, so it may supposed to look like this, but I wasn't expecting it. Both shoes with both ribbons are frayed and falling apart. The shoes them selves fit a little loose, which might not be a bad thing because of the pointy toe. But we will see. But beware of the ribbon, don't have high hopes.

I mean they are witches shoes, so it may supposed to look like this, but I wasn't expecting it. Both shoes with both ribbons are frayed and falling apart. The shoes them selves fit a little loose, which might not be a bad thing because of the pointy toe. But we will see. But beware of the ribbon, don't have high hopes.

Shoe is absolutely cute. And for sizing, a 9 is indeed a Canadian/US 9. Now let's address the laces as pretty much every review on here has mentioned. 'Frayed' is an understatement. I took several pics of the laces right out of the box. I had what I would describe as a 'bedhead hair knot' I couldn't even untie the laces. The laces are indeed atrocious. I found the booties are cuter off than on my feet. Im still debating whether I want to keep them. Paying over $60 for them when I feel the price point for quality, no more than $20. Ive been in clothing retail for over 30 yrs and judging by the stitch and make, these won't stand the test of time, moreso stand the the somewhat expected lifespan of the price I paid for,Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on April 18, 2021
hence giving me a hard time accepting the price of them for the longitivity expectation. I am a Wiccan Witch and was wanting these for regular foot attire. Not for Halloween. So just spending the next few days deciding. Every day I feel differently. But I am leaning more towards returning.

but. I'm so disappointed. the shoes are gorgeous. I'm not sure about the fit because I haven't tried them on yet, are here's why: the ribbon laces on both shoes are so ridiculously frayed I can't even untie them. I'm going to have to cut them out and find replacement laces. how did these pass any even super cursory inspection?? whoever laced them into the boots either had zero sh!ts to give or had a very big grudge with the company. I don't even know HOW they laced them in at all with the amount of tangled fraying. this isn't a small unnoticeable fray.... it assaults your eyes like witnessing welding without safety goggles.

Would have given 5 🌟 but the Ribbon they use for the laces is extremely shabby and came already screwed up and the thread is already running and knotted.
They put in a bag of additional laces in other colours and they are already knotted and the threads are running not even out of the bag. (Photos attached)
I will replace the laces with something worthy but for 147$ you would expect a decent shoe with usable laces.
