Top customer reviews
Along with the new machines, I purchased a package of extra bobbins. They do *not* have the "J" on the shank. So if the dealer itself is not supplying OEM bobbins as my extras, I figure it's OK to use the non-OEM bobbins in my machine. The Janome machines (and machines from some other manufacturers such as Elna) use the SA-156 bobbin.
Bobbins *will* wear out over time. If you have trouble with your sewing machine...
1) Try rethreading. You might have missed a thread guide or tension disk.
2) Try a different spool of thread. Thread can get old and dry out, or simply be wrong for your project or needle type.
3) Try a new needle. It is recommended to replace the needle after 8 hours of sewing anyway. Make sure it's the right type for your thread and your project.
4) If none of those work, rewind the bobbin thread onto another bobbin. If the new bobbin works fine, pitch the old bobbin. It's OK. They don't last forever.
I have been using the bobbins purchased through Amazon for several months, and I have not had the slightest amount of trouble with them.
I hope it was an honest mistake and not a scam. Using the bobbins they sent could damage my shuttle and cause me to need a new sewing machine!
I am returning these and getting a refund.
Once I put the freshly wound bobbin in my machine & tried to sew, the tension was all off & no matter how I adjusted it I could not sew without puckering from the tension, hopefully it didn't mess up anything on my machine.
I know it was only $3.56, but I want to return them. Problem is, they do not have prepaid shipping labels for returns. It has to go back to Hong Kong & it will cost like triple the cost to do that.
I emailed them to see if they will send me a prepaid label but I'm not holding my breath.
**UPDATE** The seller has credited me for the refund already & stated I don't have to return the item to them. So, good customer service, but I'll leave the 1 star rating for the product itself.
