LOVED this book! The characters are believable: Julie Keaton could be any widowed mother, striving to make a good life for her children and herself. Billy and Susan are not-too-bratty and not-too-cutesy. Scott Landis sounds like the kind of man who would please any woman and his daughter Victoria is adorable.
This book has some spicy romance scenes, without being too graphic. The problem of getting it on with children in the house is relatable to all parents.

There were poignant scenes, describing how Julie was widowed, and some intrigue tying that with Scott's business.

I especially enjoyed the humor in this story. My favorite part was when Julie went into the boardroom (but I won't elaborate, for those who haven't read this book yet).

There is an excerpt from book #2, and now I can't wait till that's published!

More, Judy, please!

This was a very sweet romance read. I was extremely impressed with this first novel from new author Judy Kentrus. I think I may've been one of the first people to read this little wonder!

I found as I read I just couldn't wait to get to the next chapter. Their were many amazing food temptations throughout the book, which was a very clever addition to the storyline knowing for a fact that Judy is an excellent cook. I love it when authors who can cook include yummy food in their books. This reminded me of the Kay Scarpetta books written by Patricia Cornwell, who always adds in lots of food in her works. Judy's delicious desserts made me hungry to grab a bite while reading.

This delightful story centers around windowed mother of two Julie and hunky businessman Scott. Needing to provide money for her family Julie gets roped into a crazy favor for her sister. What could be more innocent than jumping out of a cake for an elderly gentleman you may ask? When the beautiful Julie comes face to face with the handsome Scott, it's hard to decide who is more surprised. Some very interesting things happen after....ssshhhh, no spoilers from me!!! Scott finds it difficult to forget Julie and pretty much pursues her throughout the book. I was on the edge of my seat reading this wonderful romance late into the night eager to see how the story would end!

I recommend this lovely tale of new found romance, kindled with just the right amount of tastefully done love scenes...yet still ever so mildly hot~~~~Great job Judy!!

I love the characters in this book! Julie is easy to relate with, the kind of lady you would want to be your friend. Scott is sexy as hell and easy to fall in live with. Even the kids are true to life!

At a time when all you can find in the romance genre is regency fairy tales and girlie-porn, this story was a welcomed change of pace. Sweet, heartwarming and hard to put down. Can't wait to see what's next from Judy Kentrus!!

Going into this book, I knew it was the author's first book, so I wasn't sure what to expect. As it turned out, any expectations I had were surpassed. I connected with the characters immediately. I don't want to give away any details, but the way Scott and Julie met was uniquely entertaining and comical. The storyline surrounding these two single parents and their mayhem-magnet kids was engaging, while the suspense angle left me nervously hoping they could overcome all the obstacles that made their HEA seem impossible. The secondary characters, Russell and Lincoln, were integral to the success of the book. Hence, the reason I cheered when I reached the end of the book and discovered that more books are on the horizon!

I found one issue that I can critique. Sometimes the author changes POV suddenly in order to show another character's thoughts. While the thoughts are relevant, the shift is just so abrupt it interrupted my reading flow with a 'Whoa! What just happened?' moment. I was able to quickly surmise the new POV, and get back into the zone. Keep in mind, this was just my opinion, and might not register with anyone else. It didn't seem significant enough to drop a whole star in rating, thus the 5-star endorsement.

I am thrilled to add Judy Kentrus to my personal list of must-read authors!! If you like a dash of suspense with your steamy romance, give Judy Kentrus a shot! Keep up the good work, Judy!

Finally a real story about real people. People that you can identify with. Situations that if they did not happen to you, you know of someone who did. Julie's and Scott's story is funny, sweet, and touching. I am so looking forward to reading more from Judy Kentrus.

Cute story of a struggling single mom trying to make ends meet. She looks for a little extra cash and helps out her sister by volunteering to jump out of a birthday cake during a private party. Unfortunately, she messes up the assignment and finds more than she's bargaining for. The characters are rich and fleshed out, the story is exciting, and the pacing and flow of the writing very well done. I love stories where there is a miscommunication or misunderstanding between the characters and it all works out in the end.

I must say that I was a bit sceptical when I saw all the good reviews of this book. It was only $1 so I took a chance and it paid off. It's the very nice story of a single, widowed mom trying to keep her family together as best as she can. She does a favour for her sister and agrees to jump out of a birthday cake for an old man. Things go wrong and the birthday boy is a sexy, attractive guy. Things get out of control quickly but the h tricks the H, when things become a bit too intimate and she goes back to her normal life. As things happen, the h is the H's daughter's Girl Scout leader and is a paragon of virtue in her community. Eventually our two main characters meet and their relationship develops. There is a lot of sexual tension because the h refuses to have sex with the H in her house while the kids are around. I think at times this went on way too long Anyway it's a sweet and relatively uncomplicated story with a nice hea.

***Spoilers***
What ultimately cost the book was the cliched background story of the h's late husband having worked for the H's company. I didn't love the way the h came 'riding' in to save the day when the H's business deal was at risk. The H had investigators looking into everything for ages but somehow the h manages to discover who was causing all the problems. This book could have been shorter and this silly sub-plot could have been cut out entirely.
