I think the album art really does this album justice. The sweet vocals, heavenly strings, and victorious brass trumpets all bring to mind a soaring flock of angels. This is trailer music at its finest. Personally, I think the first track (Garador's Flight) is the best; it has the superb quality and unique appeal as such works by Two Steps from Hell and Future World Music. The other songs also sound like audible works of art. Elysium is a step up from Vendetta; whereas the previous album surrounded the atmosphere created by dark, rolling drums (don't get me wrong--it was a point of view that certainly worked and sounded great), Elysium instead takes the listener to soaring heights. Vendetta was about revenge, bringing to mind grim-faced Roman legionnaires hoisting shields, buckling on gauntlets, and facing a formidable foe across the windswept plains in the dusky morning light. Elysium is about the wings of an angel, ruffling through clean and golden clouds, cresting snow-capped mountains, breezing over rich green meadows and carpets of thick, verdant forests...it is more of an adventurous, rather than "destiny-is-calling," album. Jo Blankenburg has not disappointed in this work. I was very pleased with the quality and the originality, and despite the low number of songs compared to the price, it is definitely worth your money. Five stars for Elysium!

I heard a few samples on You Tube...Thought if these are that good the full album must be good. I was not disappointed.
When I need creative music in the background during a project..I choose Elysium.

There is music that simply cannot be ignored. Elysium is one such album. Undoubtedly one of the best works released this year, the album comes from composer and pianist Jo Blankenburg, who for six years, focused his work on the composition and production of epic music for film and television.

After the resounding success of his previous work "Vendetta", which saw some of its tracks being licensed for trailers of Hollywood blockbusters and also a nomination for the prestigious Hollywood Music and Media Award, Jo continues to grow and gives life to Elysium, possibly the best album of epic music that you will hear for a long time. Blankenburg, displaying shrewdness and a touch of genius in composing the tracks, made the album with a real cast of musicians. The tracks of Elysium do not contain any computer or virtual instruments, something that is very rare in these times.
Led by Jo Blankenburg and Petr Pololáník, Elysium was recorded in Czech Republic with Capellen Orchestra & Choir. The choir (using texts in Latin and Sanskrit), consisted of a select group of Czech Republic's finest musicians.

Music is meant to be enjoyed, but Elysium is meant to be lived. Jo Blankenburg has created the best album we can acquire for a long time. With only eleven tracks, the listener holds his breath in anticipation of what the next track has in store. And while an energetic and heroic composition is insufficient if the notes do not possess a magical melody, Jo Blankenburg has not only found the magic, he has somehow managed to make each piece better than the last.

Friends, Elysium truly is real music. This is the work of one of the best composers of our time, and that's saying something. My respect, Maestro Blankenburg!

Lovely music, much like Floatovations this seems like thematic release that holds together and transports the listener. I'm a part-time writer and this is the perfect accompaniment to that "activity".

Got wind of this album by clicking on a corresponding link from Two Steps From Hell. This album plays along similar lines. I love great score music. I still think the score form Gladiator is my all time favorite but this comes in at a close second. Very beautiful and uplifting music. I love listening to this when I'm driving and before I go to sleep at night. Powerful album.

Jo did it AGAIN! Vendetta was awesome but darker... this is the flip side of the coin. He pulled melodies that made me stop and weep from the beauty of them. WAY TO BE, BROTHER! Keep em coming!!!!!

This is one of those rare albums from which I love every single piece. Granted, there are only 11 songs, but maybe they're a little longer than pieces on some other trailer music albums. The MP3 album price was a bit less than other albums, but I previewed all the songs before purchasing. This is definitely worth buying the whole album. Even if I only liked 8 songs, it's still worth it, but I like the whole thing. It's easier to purchase and download a whole album than single songs from it. I only do that if the individual songs total less than the price of the album. Sometimes I buy a whole album for 8 or so songs, and later I discover that I like more of them.

I came across Elysium on YouTube and fell in love with Illumielle, which floats like a fairy on magical wings and builds into an upwelling of splendor and mystery. I love it! The entire album is elevates the listener to a higher plane.
