I just got this book and I am delighted with it! I am an obsessed/addicted crocheter. I have shelves of books on crochet-some I have owned for over 20 years. This one sort of leaped out at me, and I had to have it! I am an intermediate to advanced crocheter, but I have had a hard time thinking out of my own self-imposed box. Perhaps that's what it is about this book that got my attention. Every page has a great pattern for a sweater or shrug, or shawl, etc--sure, we have all seen these, BUT in this book each item is enhanced with beads or embroidery or flowers, or something else, executed in a really fresh and fun way.

Many designers are featured here. Noreen Crone-Findlay, one of my favorite artists around today, has contributed at least six things for this book. This woman must never sleep! She weaves, knits, crochets, makes dolls, and beads--to list just some of her amazing talents. She also makes hand carved wooden spool knitters and wonderful, creative crochet hooks (I am dying to get my hands on her Jane Austen hook!) and she STILL found time to design really great stuff for this book! A scarf-but not just any scarf! A necklace, but not some ho-hum necklace. Are you curious to look and see what I am talking about? I hope so. And her stuff is just a tiny portion of what is packed inside this wonderful book.

If, like me, you crochet and are ready to look (and hook) outside your usual yarn offerings, this book will certainly propel you to take that next step with wonderful color photos, good instructions and lots of fun. This one will definitely be taking its' place on my crochet bookshelf for many years to come.

The book is not what I expected, it's better. It's full of lots of ideas to create your own unique projects. I fell in love with the section entitled OUT OF AFRICA-it has has beautiful shawl and tote bag I can hardly wait to make in earthy colors with sea shells dangling all about.
I also loved the Kimon shrug crocheted in blue and red with gold trim.
This book will not disappoint you. It is chock full of ideas!!!!

I love this book. I was looking to take my crochet to the next level and picked out the most difficult pattern I could find in here. I love almost every pattern and look forward to making many more. Not for beginners or someone wanting instant results. These projects take time but are so worth it!

This is all things we did in the 70's. Great for today's teens. I'm late 50's and had hoped for more things I'd be interested in. Some great projects for my young granddaughters and they are just getting old enough.
