This beautiful, hand made 120 leaf (240 page) notebook features a brown leather binding with embossed designs on the front and back and an inset blue stone on the front. The pages are unlined, so it makes a great sketch book, as well. It has an antiqued brass swing clasp to keep your secrets safe. This book is great for keeping by the bedside to jot down dreams, or for use as as a diary or journal. The book is approximately 7 inches tall, 5 1/4 inches wide, and 1 1/4 inches thick. These journals are hand crafted, and the embossed designs and shape of the stone may vary slightly.

Update on my review 10-14-2017 I love the journals so much that I purchased an additional 2 of these. While the first 2 that I ordered, were very high quality as stated above in my previous review; the latest 2 of this item was shipped from 2 different places & these last 2 were very poor in quality. It feels more like a thin piece of rubber with a thick plastic piece in place where the stone should be. I am highly disappointed with these last 2. However I do not waste my time trying to return any items that I purchase, they will serve as a scratch pad of ideas of what I will write in a real quality book and then dispose of the garbage scratch pads.. Very disappointed.. on the left is the high quality & on the right is the thin rubber garbage..
Mostly, the "paper" is like bad quality hard paper towels.
It is rough/bumpy and has debris in it. Making it hard to write on.
And because of it's paper towel quality, it sucks up the ink making it seep into other areas.
Not sure what the pieces of yellow and other color debris is throughout the journal.
Will stay away from this seller. Things2Die4
It's more dull brown than red, but the pressed design in the leather, latch, and stone are all as they should be on mine.
The pages are held into place with string that is strung through 5 separate groups of pages folded into bundles and then the string is woven through the spine and held in place.
I still don't get why people complain about the pages....it's antique and is suppose to look so. It's handmade along w/the paper. If people wanted line/notebook paper.....buy a crap journal from walmart.
This is serving it's intended purpose for my needs perfectly. I wish I had bought 2!!
The leather detail is insane and everything about it is perfect. I might even like the string closure better because it gives it a very rustic feeling. I've never had a journal that makes me so excited. The paper is heavyweight with light texture and I love the jagged edge mismatch. The leather cover makes the book flexible. The blue stone has very slight gold flecks in it and I've read that the stone varies from order to order. It has a very organic ancient feeling to it. I can't wait to throw some words and pictures in it! Thank you!
★ Texture quality, and page quality is great. The stone seems well held and fit within the leather cover.
★ Came with a metal hinge that gave it a nice sturdy touch.
★ The embossing on the leather cover was well pressed. (definitely hand done)
★ The pages are thicker then normal lined note paper. Again good quality, held in by thick leather thread?
✘ Where holes were punctured for the threading of the binding is strung through, some of the holes are torn and merged with the others. So they aren't all independent. I was slightly sad about this. It looks like the holes got punctured to close together and didn't hold after it was strung. It doesn't bother me to much as its still sturdy feeling. But I do hope if I order another, that the binding holes will be more carefully punctured.
OVERALL: I love the book besides the one blemish I described. It feels more personal and special then just any generic diary or notebook/journal you'd find. Here's a few pictures of the book I received.
