Embracing Followership is a book all pastors and church board members should read. The discussion guide is helpful to start conversations. The main book is loaded with concise and relevant quotes from other authors and church leaders. Followership is a vital component of church leadership. Understanding how followership fits into the life of the church, both for members and leaders, can lead to a stronger church. It's important to learn that all leaders, even pastors, are at times followers. Hamlin was written a strong and important book. It deserves to be read.

Allen Hamlin has done a masterful job of making the principles in his book “Embracing Followership” interactive and relevant to life. This companion volume allows for guided conversations that allow a group or team to find direct application whether in the workplace, volunteer roles or church life. Clear guidance is a hallmark of Hamlin’s writing which makes this resource accessible even to those not experienced in a group discussion format. And he seems to have anticipated the questions any facilitator might ask!
This guide will be of keen interest to those who follow the Christian faith, as does the author. Whereas the book introduces universal truths about followership, the discussion guide brings depth and insight from those who follow Christianity, whose leader said he “did not come not to be served but to serve…” (The Bible, Mark 10:45).
I heartily recommend this guide.
