About the Author
Suzi Love now lives in a sunny part of Australia after spending many years in developing countries in the South Pacific. Her greatest loves are traveling, anywhere and everywhere, meeting crazy characters, and visiting the Australian outback. She adores history, especially the many-layered society of the late Regency to early Victorian eras. In and around London, her titled heroes and heroines may live a privileged and gay life but Suzi also likes to dig deeper into the grittier and seamier levels of British life and writes about the heroes and heroines who challenge traditional manners, morals, and occupations, either through necessity or desire. This dance of sultry attraction and suspense twined between scenes of ballroom dances, lavish gowns, swords and hidden guns. If you enjoy historical romance, a suspenseful tale or a saucy trip the past, Embracing Scandal is a book for you.
Carefully researched with lots of historical details as well as an engrossing story involving well developed characters
Both Cayle and Rebecca are very determined and confident characters. Rebecca is the undisputed caretaker of her family, it's due to her intelligent investments that her family has not fallen to genteel poverty. Her intelligence and her integrity attracts Cayle, who is also a shrewd man wishing to keep Rebecca and her family save. Cayle's behavior to Rebecca comes off as overly ducal as times, but that usually brings a heated tete-a-tete that turns into sizzling passion. It is Rebecca whose character I have some trouble getting used to. For all of her mathematical genius and her intelligence as bespoken by others, she engages in a myriad of childlike behaviors such as tantrums and foot-stomping, instead of the calm and rational demeanor I would assume her to normally take. Her stubbornness also gets annoying, when she takes a long time to accept Cayle's offer and believes that he does not truly love her. That aside, the mystery aspect of this novel is interesting, and the action well-paced, so readers would not find themselves skimming over the pages to get to the end.
All in all, this was a satisfying read that lovers of historical romance with action should pick up (not to mention the price is fairly cheap).

The characters of Cayle and Rebecca work well together, even under the circumstances of the past. Rebecca and Cayle are well rounded and very confident people. Rebecca is very adult and is the glue that holds her family together. The book was filled with historical type tendencies that will grab a hold of you. I think even if you are not a fan of this genre, the romance aspect will make you want to read it more. Overall the plot is equally as fast paced and mysterious. I really liked this book! It was a loaded with everything from danger to intrigue, to mystery to romance. For those who love romance whether it is historical or contemporary, grab it you will enjoy it!
