if you pin the blanket the blanket will tear easily. what I do is tape a square of duct tape to the emergency blanket . the fibers in the duct tape will keep the blanket from tearing.
Used them in ellensburg. Wa.
Then. In Portales, Nm, and now in Arizona at 6,500 feet elevation.
These reflect 80 percent of your body heat. I can turn the heat down to 55 and sleep toasty warm.
I gave some to elderly friends. I told them to cut tge heat sheat cross wise and put it under their sheet. They couldn't. Believe how much warmer they slept.
I dont recommend sleeping under just an emergency blanket because you will lose a lot of heat. Every time you move.
The blanket adds weight to keep the blanket in place and limit the amount of space to bleed heat.
I usually get warm in about 45 seconds.
I just wish they wasn't so crinkly and noisy
Each blanket comes compactly folded and in it's own compact plastic bag that could fit easily in a purse or glove compartment. or jacket pocket. This would be great and practical in a Christmas stocking rather than candy and "junk". In this time of turmoil and bad weather No one has an excuse for being unprepared. These would make great gifts for scout troops or outdoor clubs.or classroom gifts and easily cost next to nothing for a critical one of a kind small gift.
While we have not taken them out of the package, they appear (visual and feel) to be of adequate quality to perform as intended, for use in an emergency situation (we don't want to open as we'd never be able to fold them properly to fit back in the packaging. Delivery was on time, cost was excellent, and packaging was sufficient to prevent loss or damage. I also sent a set to my mother for her new emergency kit and she made no negative comments on them either. So at this time, my feedback is positive and hopefully we will not have the opportunity to find out that was incorrect (as that would mean we had a disaster).
