Have had these for a year or so. Packet was fresh, food was surprisingly good.

The flavor:
Very sweet, like a sugar cookie. Slight taste of lemon.

The texture:
Very weak gainular structure that quickly reduces to a .5cm² particles. They'll stay in the block form until bite. The particles are quick to melt.

The weight:
Kinda heavy to be honest. 9 bars in a backpack is heavy. I'd suggest breaking one pack into 3 and distribute them amongst your fellow hikers or consider vacuum sealing the others for later.

Thirst:
Can't say they made me thirsty. But there's a slight film coating of flavor on my tongue 3 minutes after consuming it.

Impression:
These would be my best friend in the wild while lost. I'd fight wild dogs to keep these babies.

Solid product, I highly recommend it.

I ordered mine in 12/19. When they arrived the manufacture date was 5/19 and expiration is 5/24, so out of a 5 year shelf life I'm getting a solid 4.5 years.

They taste a bit like sugar cookies. Theyre kinda crumbly, the texture is very granular. If you use these id definitely put down a paper towel or use a plate if you can. I took one star away from 'presentation' because of the crumbly factor.

All in all, in a survival situation I'd be quite happy to live off these for a few days and will definitely buy more.
