Blog postHave you ever read a story that made you forget about your own reality? I'm not talking about Potterverse or Game of Thrones. I'm talking about going into a book and realizing you just spent the past five hours on the couch, chair, or bed and now your muscles ache. I remember that feeling of wanting to know what happened next at the end of the chapter. It was exhilarating and when it was over it was melancholic.9 months ago Read more

Blog postI was the best guard dog in my life, so naturally, they gave me the job. My owners were sad when I died. I heard them weeping as I lay on the ground after getting hurt from the coyote that was going after our chickens. I fought it off with all my might. I think I injured him, too. It hurt too much to move. I wanted to lick them to tell them I was okay. I did my job. I was a good dog.1 year ago Read more

Blog postIt’s the thing to say now about this year, isn’t it? 2020 sucked. We had wildfires, a pandemic, lost millions of people all over the world, and straight up revolutions happening around the world… this year was truly “unprecedented” for sure. Another thing about 2020 that sucked was that I didn’t have the motivation to… Continue reading Good Riddance 20201 year ago Read more

Kevin was awake with his anxiety levels mellowed, hallucinations subsided, but it didn’t stop his thoughts. How could she hate me so much? He thought to himself, what did I do to deserve this? Why me? He was trapped in a prison cell that was his own mind.
Kevin and Molly have two views about their parents.
Kevin, a diagnosed schizophrenic, thinks his parents believe he’s damaged goods. Molly, an overachieving honor student, understands her parents want what’s best for them.
After Kevin’s suicide attempt, Molly starts to view their family the way Kevin had and forces her parents to see the damage they have caused.
My mother turned to us and said, “Not a word about this to anyone.”
I looked at my dad, he agreed.
I didn’t.
In We Don’t Talk About That., we explore what life is like in a home of a young teenager struggling to cope with schizophrenia and what happens to the family after a suicide attempt becomes the final rip that tears them apart.
In this collection you'll find fifteen different short stories. Tales of young, old, and everyone in between. Stories about Family, Friends, and Life.
