I heart this story! I think Emmalee is my favorite character of all the books so far. She seems to have it all; a rich family with a big house, money to spend on anything she wants but she still lacks one important thing, love. She takes on a project Hannah Smith and thinks she's helping her out by being her friend. Chase Anderson is the guy next door and he's a perfect George Knightly (He's also the older brother to Taylor Anderson from Pride & Popularity). Chatty Claire Hart (we meet in Northanger Alibi, which I loved!) is the annoying younger sister to Chloe & Cassidy that Emma has to endure and is annoyed by her busy-body ways. You have all your favorite characters from Jane Austen's Emma in a modern-day twist. Matching-making by Emma gets all messed up and her new friend Hannah is heartbroken. It's a wonderful story and I want to read it again and again. I'd love to see this one made into a movie. I know we already have an Emma movie but I want a modern version and not Clueless (even though I did enjoy that one). There are a lot of characters that make appearances from the other books and you start getting a complete picture of how they are all connected. Jenni is brilliant in her writing, the way it all works together. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Seriously, I loved this book. Emmalee was a flawed character to begin with, but I could tell she was a character worth staying with. I could tell she wasn't going to let us down! She made me laugh several times throughout the novel. And Chase Anderson...okay, I won't spoil the book for anyone who hasn't read. Basically, the romance in this novel did not disappoint! Funny, engaging and romantic!

A warning to mature readers: This book is geared to youthful readers. It was loosely based on Jane Austen books but lacked the writing skills to keep it interesting. I'll pass it on to my granddaughters.

This is a high school version of Jane Austen’s Emma. Emmalee is a super popular girl. A friend of hers moved, so Emmalee’s decided to befriend some lucky girl at her school and make her popular. She also decides to take up matchmaking (which she’s terrible at, despite her assertions otherwise), and she’s perfectly oblivious to som of her own ardent admirers.

First of all, I loved the character arc. Emmalee is a bit snobby and spoiled, yet surprisingly sympathetic. Chase makes the perfect Mr. Knightley for her. Another thing I loved were the emotions. This author has a talent for turning the words on the page into emotions that make your heart clench. The tense and sweet scenes between Chase and Emmalee were perfect—I loved seeing them clash. This book is semi-short. It’ll take a few hours, but you can do it in a day without too much hassle (okay, if it’s on a Sunday). I’d definitely recommend this. In the mean time, I’ll try and find time to work on the next book in the series ;)

I loved this book. My daughter also read The Jane Austen Diaries after I did. And she loved them so much that when her cousins came for vacation they all read them (out loud together) during the visit. Great and capturing books. I have enjoyed each one of them. For kindle readers the price is a steal to get a good, cute, clean, fun book. These are the kind of books I want my teen to be reading. With so much out there, I really appreciate an author that keeps it clean. Thank you Jenni James, the more you write, the more we will buy!

This is one of my favorite Jane Austen and I just love to see how the main character grows each time and Jenni James builds Emma perfectly and her details of the surrounding area makes you feel like you are there and walking with the characters. I usually read her books in a matter of days because I just can't put them down. Once you read one you'll have to read all.

Oh my heavens to Betsy Batman!! Where in the world do I start?! Oh! I know... stop reading my review and go buy this book RIGHT NOW!!!! I'm serious... DO IT!!! ;o) Jenni James has knocked it out of the park AGAIN!!

Ok... you bought it?! FANTABULOUS!! Now on to the review!!

Emmalee is a laugh out loud... grab your kleenex... deep sighing kind of a book... the kind of book any girl like me LOVES reading!!

Emma thinks that she is an expert matchmaker and is bound and determined to see all her friends as happy as she is. Little does she know... she has no clue what love really is! She befriends Hannah and decides that not only is she going to make her popular but she is going to help find her love as well! After all... she wants to see Hannah as happy as she is... or as happy as she THINKS she is! As she embarks on this journey we call life, with the help of her neighbor and friend, Chase, she truly gets to take a look at herself and see the person she has become and see the changes that she desperately needs to make!

There were times while reading this book that I literally wanted to shake some sense into Emma! And then there were times that I absolutely adored her! You could tell that deep down she had a good heart however she had a hard time judging people by their outward appearance. She would think that she was better than them and not really take the chance to get to know the person for who they really are.

Enter from stage left... CHASE!! *swoon* Holy crow Batman!! I absolutely LOVE Chase!! He is her knight in shining armor... always there to save and help her when she needs it the most!! Words cannot describe how much I LOVE him!! If anyone was to ask me who my dream guy would be I would tell them to read Emmalee and find out!! I never...
