This product really does seem to work for our two cats. They are seemingly repulsed by the spray, and the youngest runs away the minute the spray bottle is picked up to spray the couch. The other cat, while he rarely scratches now, HAS tried once or twice to put a claw in our new couch. I've been spraying this lightly, as directed, on the sides, back and corners of the couch for about 10 days now. I'm happy with the product as far as it keeping the cats away.HOWEVER...be careful, this stuff has a "soapy" compound in it (saponified coconut). It has left a coating on my couch that is slightly sticky or tacky! I'm not going to spray any more...the cats seem to be fairly used to not scratching, but I may turn to the tape product which I also purchased if I need to keep deterring the scratching. I think that it might be possible to make this type of product without saponified oils...maybe with JUST the rosemary, which provides the strong smell. I just don't want a soapy coating on my brand new couch! I'm a bit disappointed! The photos show the slight discoloration where I sprayed my taupe/champagne colored couch. The side photo shows it best. The seat picture is to show what the couch looks like when it has NOT been sprayed. All-in-all...I take the blame for letting it get a bit discolored...this is a light colored sofa, and this product has a soapy compound in it. BE CAREFUL if you choose to use!

This stuff is pretty great. It's kept my recently-attracted-to-carpet kitty from scratching, and makes my house smell great while doing so. The rosemary scent is strong enough to keep the kitties away without triggering my allergies. HOWEVER - the spray nozzles on these bottles have been atrocious. Out of the 5 I've used so far, only 1 has actually acted as a spray. The others either don't work at all, or I get more dribble down the side of the bottle and on my hands than on the carpet, and that's with trying just about every angle imaginable using the bottle and the sprayer it came with. I've had to save the one working one and pass it down from each bottle I've gotten. Other than that, this has been a great product.

…my chronically/constantly scratching cats (3) have stayed AWAY from the new chair. It has been almost 2 months.

I sprayed this on the nearly-destroyed couch arms and a recliner arm (two other furniture pieces they’d already claimed)….and they’ve stopped scratching THOSE, too.

I have a one year old kitten that is a jumper on all my cabinets. We almost were not going to purchase a Christmas tree as we thought she would use this to jump on.
We did purchase a 6 foot tree this year and had it all decorated. She just kept walking around it and
was trying to eat some branches. Then I remembered that I had purchased Stop the Scratch spray Deterrent for kittens and cats. I then put this product in a small spray bottle and sprayed the two bottom branches all around the tree. Stella decided to smell the tree and quickly walked away from it as she did not like the smell. I did this lightly every morning and she never tried to get close to the tree again. This worked until New Years when the tree was now ready to have ornaments & lights removed and removed from the house. I also did this on the garland that was placed on the fireplace mantel as Stella did jump up on this and knocked it down. She only did this once as I had not yet sprayed it. Best product to use as
it cannot harm a cat or any live plants or artificial plants or furniture.
Thank you Amazon for having this spray to now keep Stella a good girl.

My lovely cat has been destroying my furniture, specifically my couch, and nothing would deter her. I tried everything! If she wasn’t scratching the sides of the couch, she went behind it and scratched the back of it. I bought this product with only a shred of hope that it would make her stop, but it did!
