We left off in The Princess with Harper accidentally overhearing Eric and Grayson talking about a secret Eric is keeping but it’s not what she is imagining.
There are so many ups and downs and surprises in this book. You don’t know who is sending the messages or who is trying to kill Harper, Eric or his father. Is it Gigi, Isaac, Harper’s Mother or the mob? So many possibilities and so much evil in this one family. The old saying comes to mind reading this book….with family like this who needs enemies?
Eric figures out one of the messages contain the document number to a birth certificate. But who’s birth certificate is it? Why would someone send Eric that message? Who is sending these messages to Harper and Eric? This book answers all the questions you have had while reading this trilogy. You will be surprised when you get to the end of the book.
Harper and Eric has yet to crack the codes given to them to solve their problem. They're playing a dangerous game in a minefield full of lies, secrets and deceptions. Secrets that only the Kingston family holds and protects. Thus, them being all a possible suspect.
But it's not only the Kingstons' where secrets exists. It's also in between Harper and Eric. The time is ticking and revelationd are bound to happen one way or another. But will they bith come of of it together and still alive?
There's so many happenings, so many issues that still needs to be solve. Secrets that were buried deep. Will they ever find the answers they need to survive?
I loved that I didn't see where exactly the author will take the story. There's too many possibility to consider. And somehow, it added to the climactic rise of the story. My anticipation is on all high levels and it only heightens in every page turn.
Also, the struggle of both main characters is to be expected. Their back and forth with their emotions affects their mindsets. Slowly, everyday it seems secrets are being divulged and it's not in their favor. But with all of these pressuring both of them, their bond remains intact. They will face their enemies together and they will survive this dilemma the Kingston family tangled them in.
I do recommend this trilogy!

Lisa Renee Jones is one of my favourite romantic suspense authors and she finished off the Filthy Trilogy much as I'd hoped.
Eric and Harper have had one hell of a time and to see how everything they faced was gonna shape their relationship and finally find out what the hell was behind all that had been going on until now made for good reading.
A couple of things I thought I'd figured out - one I sort of got, sorta... the main threat was fairly obvious but it was the reasons behind it all that stumped me. The secret that left us on tender-hooks at the end of The Princess wasn't quite what I expected and not as awful as I'd imagined it could be. I liked how the tension and suspense was kept up at the start of the book but didn't consume every chapter - and yeah, there was a lot of sex but hey, it's LRJ, and she writes those scenes really well!! :D
I love how this series kinda intertwines with the Dirty Rich books (but you could read the trilogy as a standalone and still understand what was going on, you'd just miss out on knowing who the other characters are and where they fit in to Eric's circle/life) and the addition of the Walker Security team as well as Grayson and Mia added to my overall enjoyment of the reads.
I've heard tell that a certain burly Walker Security team member is gonna be getting his own book and I cannot wait to see who snares his attention!!!
IMHO the Filthy Trilogy is a definite must read, especially if you're a fan of Ms Jones' books. The Empire gets another 5* from me and I look forward to catching up with Eric and Harper further in the Dirty Rich series.
Eric and Harper are still battling the Kingston family. Secrets which could turn their lives upside down are uncovered. The focus of the story is mainly on Eric's and Harper's insecurities and trust issues, but they are determined to prove their true feelings to each other.
I have mixed feelings about this finale. It's a good storyline, but the repetitive sexual scenes which are meant to reinforce the depth of their love take away the focus from the issues that they are facing. I am no prude and quite enjoy reading a raunchy scene. This somehow revolves around their sexual escapades as opposed to the mystery surrounding the Kingston family.
Eric and Harper are supportive of each other and they truely believe in one another despite their doubts and the barriers and danger, put in their way. The revelation about Eric's identity comes as a real surprise, but the culprits and the reasons for their actions are predictable.
It's a well written story, but I feel that the excess emphasis on their relationship interferes with the rest of the plot. Having read quite a few books from this author and all of which I enjoyed, I have to admit that this isn't my favourite. It's a good read and the conclusion of this trilogy is satisfying.
I also love that Walker Security play a large part of in the protection, and a little dickie bird told me Savage is getting his own trilogy and that one to forward too.
Lisa keeps the tension high in this last part of the Eric and Harper adventure. As always the sex is hot and the revelations keep coming while Eric’s and Harper are trying to roll with what ever comes at them. As usual with have dual points of view you feel integrated into the storyline. I not giving any of what happens away. We all know the journey to get to their happily ever after is filled with potholes with giant boulders coming at them.
Would highly recommend.
Ever heard of too much Drama?? Well you will find it in this book and never in a good way.
Harper is needy and Eric is aggravating with all the Bastard issue.
It could've been great. It's a shame.
